A modular tailgate light for a vehicle having an auxiliary lighting plug, the modular tailgate light broadly including a left section, a right section, a middle section, and a power connector. The left section, the right section, and the middle section each include a set of red lights and a set of white lights. The red lights of the middle section include left red lights and right red lights. The modular tailgate light can be used in a small vehicle configuration in which the left and right sections are connected together with the middle section omitted and a large vehicle configuration in which the middle section is connected between the left and right sections. In the large vehicle configuration, the left red lights activate identically to the red lights of the left section and the right red lights activate identically to the red lights of the right section.

An auxiliary vehicle lighting system is provided for use in a vehicle having an engine and an electrical system. The auxiliary vehicle lighting system has at least one auxiliary vehicle light; a control hub, connected to the vehicle electrical system and to each auxiliary vehicle light; and a system shut down function or program, connected to the control hub and configured to de-energize the auxiliary lighting system. The control hub is constructed and arranged so that upon illumination of the auxiliary vehicle lights and with the engine turned off, the vehicle battery voltage is monitored. If the battery voltage reaches a designated low voltage target, the system shut down function or program is activated, which de-energizes the auxiliary lights.

Auxiliary vehicle lighting control system

An auxiliary vehicle lighting system is provided for use in a vehicle having an engine and an electrical system. The system has at least one auxiliary vehicle light; a control hub, connected to the vehicle electrical system and to each auxiliary vehicle light; and a system shut down function or program, connected to the control hub and configured to de-energize the auxiliary lighting system. The control hub is constructed and arranged so that upon illumination of the auxiliary vehicle lights and with the engine turned off, the vehicle battery voltage is monitored. If the battery voltage reaches a designated low voltage target, the system shut down function or program is activated, which de-energizes the auxiliary lights.

Methods and systems are provided for enabling wireless control by use of portable power supply systems with embedded communication components. A power supply component, which is operable to store and discharge power, and which may be configured for use in a first device to supply power thereto in portable manner, may be configured to determine data associated with the power supply component. The data may comprise information relating to one or more conditions associated with use of power stored in the power supply component, in conjunction with operation of the first device. The power supply component may comprise a communication element, for wirelessly communicating messages to a second device that is physically separate from the first device, to control at least part of operations of the second device. Controlling operations of the second device may comprise activating or deactivating the second device based on use of power by the first device.

Method and system for enabling wireless control in tools by use of portable power supply systems with embedded communication components

Apparatuses and methods based thereon are provided for onboard measurements in miter saws. A measurement device may be attached to or incorporated into a miter saw, where the measurement device being configured to provide onboard measurement when cuts are made using the miter saw. The measurement device may comprise a tape based measurement device. The measurement device may be portable to enable detaching it from the miter saw when on-location measurements are made, and attaching it to the miter saw when cut measurements are provided. The measurement device may comprise an output component (e.g., digital display) for outputting measurement readings and/or information associated with cut measurements. The measurement device (and/or the miter saw itself) may be configured for communicating signals wirelessly in accordance with one or more wireless technologies, such as to enable receiving measurements made remotely.

Onboard measuring system for miter saws

A spade bit including a longitudinally extending shaft having a cutting member located at a distal end thereof. The cutting member comprises a pair of helically shaped, opposed blades joined along the longitudinal axis of the shaft and an axially extending pilot spur. The pilot spur defines a pair of cutting edges, and each of the blades defines a forward cutting edge joined with a respective cutting edge of the pilot spur.

A drill bit is disclosed having a cutting portion having a plurality of axially aligned, graduated cutting members. Each of the members has cutting edges defined by a single slot extending therethrough. A tip portion at one end of the cutting portion defines at least a pair of cutouts therein, wherein one of the cutouts is aligned with the slot.

A rotary saw blade for cutting fiber cement board materials. In one embodiment, a rotary saw blade is provided having a main body plate and a central opening with respect to an axis of rotation. A plurality of cutting teeth are disposed about the periphery of the plate. Arcuate tooth support portions extend rearwardly from the cutting teeth and have a center of curvature offset from the axis of rotation. Peaked shoulders having a forwardly sloping portion, a peak and a rearwardly sloping portion extend from the tooth support portions. The peaked shoulders partially define hook-shaped gullets between the shoulders and the cutting teeth.
