In a planar illumination device according to an embodiment, a reflector can be stably fixed to a substrate even when a temperature change occurs. A planar illumination device includes a substrate provided with a plurality of light sources at one surface side, a reflector provided at the one surface side of the substrate, a bottom frame provided at a surface side of the substrate opposite to the one surface side, a first fixing member configured to fix a center portion of the reflector in a longitudinal direction to the bottom frame, and a second fixing member configured to fix the one surface of the substrate and the reflector. A force of the second fixing member restricting the substrate and the reflector is greater at a center portion of the reflectorin the longitudinal direction than at a portion of the reflectorseparated in the longitudinal direction from the center portion.

Planar illumination device

A planar lighting device includes: a plurality of point light sources; a circuit board provided with the point light sources; a light guide plate including an end surface along which the point light sources are disposed in a facing manner and a surface to which a portion of a front end of the circuit board is fixed; and a fixing member that fixes the circuit board to the light guide plate. The fixing member includes: a plurality of small-piece double-sided adhesive members; and a single-sided adhesive member that integrates the plurality of small-piece double-sided adhesive members.

A planar lighting device includes: a light guide plate; a plurality of light sources arranged in line along a longitudinal direction of a side end surface of the light guide plate, each of light sources including a pair of electrode terminals; and a mounting substrate on which the light sources are mounted, the mounting substrate including a conductive pattern including a plurality of pairs of lands to which the respective pairs of electrode terminals of the light sources are connected. The light sources are mounted such that, in a longitudinal direction of the light sources, a gap between an outer side of each of the pairs of electrode terminals and an outer side of corresponding one of the pairs of lands is smaller than a gap between an inner side of the pair of electrode terminals and an inner side of the corresponding pair of lands.

A planar illumination device according to an embodiment, including: a light guiding plate having one of a pair of opposite principal surfaces serving as a light emission surface; a light source arranged at a side surface connecting end edges of the pair of principal surfaces of the light guiding plate; and a frame, in which the light guiding plate is arranged. The frame is formed of plural frame members arranged along side surfaces of the light guiding plate. The plural frame members are configured to include a resin frame member and a metal frame member, and to have a joint portion between the resin frame member and the metal frame member, the joint portion arranged at end portions of the resin frame member and the metal frame member.
