According to one embodiment, an antenna apparatus includes first line which has a feed end connected to a feed point and an open end, and is L-shaped, and second line which has a first end connected to a branch point between a bend portion of first line and the feed point and a second end connected to a first ground point, and is L-shaped. First line includes first portion which is elongated from the feed end to the bend portion, and second portion which is elongated from the bend portion to the open end. Second line includes third portion which is elongated from the branch point to a bend portion, and fourth portion which is elongated from the bend portion to the first ground point. The second portion and the third portion are opposed to each other.

According to one embodiment, a data communication device includes a housing and an antenna. The housing includes a base formed of a carbon material and circumferential edges continuous with edges of the base and formed of a resin material. The antenna is accommodated in the housing and includes a conductive portion grounded via the base and an element portion arranged further away from the base than the conductive portion.

One embodiment is a communication device in which different wireless systems whose frequency bands are close to each other are installed. For a first wireless system, a first antenna using a first frequency band is provided. For a second wireless system, a second antenna using a second frequency band is provided. The first frequency band is set in a range wider than the second frequency band. The second frequency band is included in a part of the range of the first frequency band. An imaginary surface extending along the first antenna and an imaginary surface extending along the second antenna cross each other on their extension lines.

According to one embodiment, an antenna device includes a first antenna, a second antenna, a third antenna, a capacitor element, a high-frequency cable, and a base member. The first antenna includes a folded-type monopole element. The second antenna includes a monopole element. The third antenna includes a passive element. The capacitor element is between a feeding point and a stub in a backward-path portion of the first antenna. The high-frequency cable is connected to the feeding point. The base member is formed of a dielectric material and has first, second, and third surfaces located to extend in different directions. The first, second, and third antenna are located at the first, second, and third surfaces.

According to one embodiment, an antenna includes a second element that has an end connected to a first point of a first element, and first and second ends kept open, and includes a first portion extending from a feed terminal to the first end, and a second portion extending from the feed terminal and bifurcated at a second point between the first point and the first end. The lengths of the first and second portions are set to substantially &#xbc; of a resonance frequency, and substantially &#xbe; of a resonance frequency, severally. The second portion includes a portion extending from the feed terminal to the second point, and a portion extending from the second point to the second end and interposed between the portion and a ground.

There is provided an antenna device including: a finite ground plane; a feeding point; feed antenna elements arranged in a radial fashion around the feeding point at a height from the finite ground plane; a selector switch to connect a first end of a feed antenna element selected from the feed antenna elements to the feeding point; and parasitic elements arranged correspondingly to the feed antenna elements, in which a first end thereof is connected to the finite ground plane and a portion including a second end thereof is capacitively coupled with the feed antenna element corresponding thereto, wherein a first length of the parasitic element is approximately a quarter of a wavelength of a radio frequency to be used, and a length from the second end of the feed antenna element to the feeding point is shorter than the first length of the parasitic element.

In an electronic device, a first housing for receiving a wireless circuit unit and a ground part, a second housing in which a ground part, a hinge mechanism which connects the first and second housings to each other to allow the first and second housings to be rotated, and first and second antennas which resonate for the same frequency band. The first and second antennas are provided in an intermediate portion of the hinge mechanism, and arranged side by side and apart from each other by a predetermined distance in a longitudinal direction of the mechanism. In the mechanism, one of end portions of the mechanism is made electrically conductive, and the other end portion is decreased in electrical conductivity.

According to one embodiment, an antenna apparatus includes a first antenna element, a second antenna element, and a third antenna element. The first antenna element has one end connected to a feed terminal, and other end open. The second antenna element has one end connected to a first position set on an element of the first antenna element, and other end open, with a portion between one end and the other end being disposed parallel to the first antenna element. The third antenna element has one end connected to a second position set between the other end and the first position on the element of the first antenna element, and other end open, with at least part of a portion between one end and the other end being disposed near the second antenna element.

According to one embodiment, an antenna apparatus includes a first antenna unit disposed along a side of a ground pattern, a second antenna unit disposed along the side of the ground pattern so as to be juxtaposed with the first antenna unit, a first RF cable configured to connect the first antenna unit and the radio circuit unit, and a second RF cable configured to connect the second antenna unit and the radio circuit unit. The first RF cable and the second RF cable are routed from the first antenna unit and the second antenna unit in an arrangement direction of the first antenna unit and the second antenna unit so as to be parallel to each other, with the first RF cable being disposed so as to pass over the ground pattern.

According to one embodiment; an antenna device according to this embodiment includes the first antenna element formed from a folded monopole element and a capacitor element. The first antenna element has a first end connected to a feeding terminal, a second end connected to the first ground terminal, and a middle portion folded, with a stub being provided between the forward portion and backward portion formed by this folding. The capacitor element is inserted between the stub and the above feeding terminal of the forward portion of the first antenna element.

Antenna device and electronic apparatus including antenna device

An antenna device of an embodiment includes: an antenna having a feeding point and an end portion apart from the feeding point, the end portion being an open end; a variable impedance matching circuit connected to the antenna at the feeding point; a probe placed in such a position that the distance from the end portion to a tip of the probe is equal to or shorter than one eighth of the wavelength corresponding to the maximum radio frequency used in the antenna device; and a controller that is connected to the probe, and controls the variable impedance matching circuit, based on an electrical signal measured with the probe.
