Microporous polymer films and methods of making same are disclosed. The microporous polymer film comprises: one or more polypropylene copolymer, said polypropylene copolymer comprising one or more polypropylene homopolymer chain segments and one or more ethylene-containing copolymer chain segments; wherein the microporous polymer film comprises: (i) polypropylene homopolymer chain segments in total amount of from 50-82 wt. %, based on the weight of the microporous polymer film; (ii) one or more ethylene-containing copolymer chain segments in total amount of from 18-50 wt. %, based on the weight of the microporous polymer film, wherein at least a portion of the ethylene-containing copolymer chain segments comprises polymerized units of ethylene in an amount of at least 45 wt. %, based on the weight of the ethylene-containing copolymer chain segments.

Polyolefin-based microporous films via sequential cold and hot stretching of unannealed polypropylene copolymer films

A method for subsurface irrigation having the steps of; providing one or more hydrophobic porous uncoated tubes having a hydro head (HH), locating the tubes with at least a portion of their length within the rhizosphere of plants to be irrigated, and passing an aqueous irrigation liquid into the tubes during the growth phase of the plants to be irrigated at an applied pressure at or below HH. The tubes may be located in the proximity of seeds which become the plants to be irrigated following their germination. In this embodiment, aqueous irrigation fluid is passed into the tubes during a germination phase of the seeds at an applied pressure that is at least 10% higher than the applied pressure during the growth phase of the plants.

A moisture vapor permeable metalized composite sheet is formed by coating a moisture vapor permeable sheet with at least one metal layer and at least one outer organic coating layer. The moisture vapor permeability of the composite sheet is at least about 80% of the moisture vapor permeability of the starting sheet. The composite sheet provides a barrier to air and liquid water infiltration while having high moisture vapor permeability and good thermal barrier properties. Durable metallized self-adhesive laminates

A coated porous sheet material comprising a gas permeable sheet material selected from the group consisting of flash spun plexifilamentary nonwoven sheet, spunbonded-film-spunbonded composite sheet, spun-laced polyester/wood pulp composite sheet and paper and a polymeric coating on at least one side thereof, wherein the permeability of the coated sheet material is substantially equivalent to the permeability of an equivalent sheet material without the coating.
