A frictionless shopping platform supports modular systems to outfit any physical store with a secure self-checkout experience. The frictionless shopping platform can communicate with a kiosk or mobile application to obtain customer information including payment information; a shopping sensor platform that tracks a user in the store to obtain anonymous shopper identification and associated shopping cart items; and a financial services provider to affect payment.

Frictionless shopping method and system

A disclosed method of transferring information between application programs on a mobile device may involve executing a browser application program on the mobile device to display a page containing one or more objects on a touch panel display; responsive to user touching of the display, identifying an object from the displayed page as having been selected by the user; and copying the selected object from the displayed page. The method further includes steps of displaying on the display a list of one or more destination programs available for selection and execution on the mobile device. The method may also involve steps of, responsive to user touching of the touch screen display, identifying one destination program as having been selected by the user, and launching the identified program. Then, the copied object is pasted for use in the execution of the identified destination program.

Browser based objects for copying and sending operations

A system for adaptive application of device settings is disclosed. In the system, a first device may receive information identifying settings that are applied to one or more second devices. The settings may correspond to interactions, by a user, with the one or more second devices over a period of time. The one or more second devices be may non-mobile devices associated with one or more facilities. The first device may determine information identifying one or more conditions, associated with environmental conditions or conditions associated with the user's mood or physical state, under which the settings are applied to the one or more second devices; store information that correlates the settings of the one or more second devices with the one or more conditions; determine that at least one of the one or more conditions is met; and apply the settings to the one or more second devices.

Adaptive application of accessory device settings

An accessory and method for displaying a data feed are described. A device interface of the accessory is configured to connect a processor with an external device and transfer a data feed from the external device to a display of the accessory. A memory stores computer executable instructions to instruct the processor to receive the transferred data feed via the device interface and to instruct the processor to provide the transferred data feed to the display. A user interface provides a user input in response to the transferred data feed to the processor and back to the external device.

Accessory with integrated display controlled by connected device

A method of registering a mobile station with a website includes the steps of receiving an identification of the mobile station at the website and, determining whether or not the mobile station is already registered at the website, based on the received identification. Upon determining that the mobile station is not already registered, the website interacts with a user of the mobile station to obtain information from the user to register the mobile station and association thereof with the user at the website. Upon completion of registering of the mobile station at the website, a message is sent to the mobile station, indicating the registration of the mobile station with the website.

Method of registering a mobile station with a social networking site

A system and method are described in which direct communication between a removable tamper-resistant module in a mobile terminal and a third party server is permitted only after security information is transmitted indirectly through a secure server in a mobile network operator that provides mobile communication services to the mobile terminal. The third party server is logically located outside of the mobile network operator. The secure server is configured to be able to communicate with the removable tamper-resistant module via the secure communication link. The information is transmitted from the removable tamper-resistant module to the third party server or from the third party server to the removable tamper-resistant module and includes a key for encryption or decryption or a certificate for verifying data or program transmissions therebetween.

Method for transmitting information stored in a tamper-resistant module

A distribution server is configured to receive from a web portal information about an order request for an accessory and digital content. The distribution server stores the digital content at the distribution server along with authentication information used to authenticate a retrieval request for the digital content from a mobile device. The authentication information includes a claim receipt for the digital content and a Mobile Directory Number (MDN) associated with the mobile device. The mobile device sends the retrieval request to the distribution server. Responsive to the retrieval request, the distribution server determines whether the mobile device is authorized to receive the digital content. Upon determining the mobile device is authorized to receive the digital content, the distribution server forwards the digital content over a communication network to the mobile device.

Personalizing an accessory with digital content

An application store provides an incentive based recommendation method for recommending a mobile station content item. A user of a first mobile station recommends the mobile station content item to a second user. The application store distributes the recommendation through a mobile communication network to a mobile station of the second user. The application store stores information associated with the recommendation and detects access of the mobile station content item by the second user. In response to the detected access, the application store provides a reward to the first user based on the stored information.

Incentive based recommendation method for mobile station content

An accessory which has a theme and which may be used with an electronic device may be configured to electronically communicate information about that theme to the electronic device. Correspondingly, the electronic device may be configured to receive the theme information from the accessory and to reflect that theme based on the theme information. The reverse may also take place. The electronic device may be configured to electronically communicate theme information to the accessory, and the accessory may be configured to receive the theme information from the electronic device and to reflect that theme based on the theme information.
