Articles according to the invention have an improved gloss, low haze and higher resistance to delamination than previous articles. A compact, stable shampoo composition containing a cationic polymer and from about 20% to about 40%, by weight, of a surfactant system. The shampoo composition is substantially free of sulfate-based surfactants. The surfactant system contains acyl glutamate and one or more co-surfactants. The weight ratio of acyl glutamate to total surfactant can be less than 0.55.

A compact shampoo composition containing a cationic polymer and from about 20% to about 40%, by weight, of a surfactant system. The shampoo composition is substantially free of sulfate-based surfactants. The surfactant system contains acyl glutamate, sodium cocoyl isethionate, and a zwitterionic surfactant. Also included herein is a method for treating a substrate with these compositions. The method includes the steps of applying at least one active material having functional groups to the substrate, applying a photocatalyst to the substrate, and exposing the photocatalyst and the at least one active material to light for forming covalent attachments between the functional groups and constituent groups on the substrate.
