A novel thixotropic agent comprising urea crystals which comprises at least one compound containing at least one functional group having at least one bond which can be activated with actinic radiation; a novel process for preparing a thixotropic agent comprising urea crystals by reacting at least one primary and/or secondary amine and/or water with at least one polyisocyanate in a liquid organic medium consisting of or comprising at least one compound containing at least one functional group having at least one bond which can be activated with actinic radiation; and the use of the thixotropic agents to prepare coating materials, adhesives and sealing compounds curable thermally and with actinic radiation.

Thixotropic agent that can be activated using actinic radiation, a method for its production and the use thereof

A thixotroping agent comprising a reaction product of a isocyanto-containing compound and an amine. The isocyanto-containing compound comprises at least one of Ia) at least one isocyanate with at least one diisocyanate structural unit that has an unsaturated/aromatic or non-aromatic ring structure with 5-10 ring atoms and two isocyanate groups that are bound to the ring structure; Ib) at least one oligomer of the isocyanate Ia) with 2 to 10 isocyanate units; and Ic) at least one partially blocked isocyanate Ia) and/or at least one partially blocked oligomer Ib).

Thixotroping agent

A reactive polyurethane with a number average molecular weight Mn of 800 to 14,000 daltons, a branching degree of 0.0 to 3.0 Mol/kg and an isocyanate functionality of 2.0 to 6.0. The reactive polyurethane is produced by reacting polyester and/or polyether, which both have at least two functional groups that are reactive with isocyanate and which have a molecular weight of 400 to 2,500 daltons and a branching degree of 0 to 3.5 Mol/kg; with at least one polyol with a molecular weight of 62 to 400 daltons and a functionality of 2 to 4; polyamines and/or alkanolamines; compounds with at least one functional group capable of producing anions and at least one functional group that is reactive with isocyanates; polyisocyanates and/or polyisocyanate adducts; blocking agents for the isocyanate groups and neutralizer. Also, a polyurethane dispersion containing the reactive polyurethanes.
