The invention relates to a solenoid switch for starting devices for starting internal combustion engines, comprising a joint () between assembled parts of the solenoid switch. The invention is characterized in that the joint is formed in such a way that a direct penetration of spray water is prevented and pressure compensation is enabled.

A power supply system for starter devices has an energy storage unit, a starter device supplyable with electrical energy from the energy storage unit, a power supply line which carries the electrical energy from the energy storage unit to said starter device, a disconnection switch between the energy storage device and the starter device, the disconnection switch being located reversibly and directly on the energy storage unit.

An inertia-drive starter is proposed, in the case of which a relay is not required to engage the pinion in the flywheel ring gear () of an internal combustion engine. With this starter, a pushing-forward of the driven shaft () to engage a pinion () in the flywheel ring gear () is brought about by means of a pole tube () located on the stator () of the starter motor (), which said pole tube executes a turning motion around the motor axis when the starter motor () is energized. Means () are provided that convert the turning motion of the pole tube () directly into an axial motion acting on the driven shaft ().

A method and a device are described for diagnosing a fuel system having a plurality of electric fuel delivery units, which are submerged on the inlet side in a fuel supply contained in a fuel tank, and which, on the outlet side, deliver fuel in a fuel line to an internal combustion engine. The currents of the electric fuel delivery units are measured directly or indirectly in an analysis unit, compared to one another, and a diagnostic signal in digitized form is generated as a function of the result of the comparison.

Method and device for diagnosing the failure of a fuel delivery device in a fuel system

An electric-motor-driven housing for a feed pump ( ), in particular for a feeding device for fuel, is proposed in which on the commutator side there is a connection cap ( ) for the electrical connection contacts ( ) and pump inlets and/or outlets ( ). The connection cap ( ) comprises an electrically conductive plastic, and a connection to a ground potential can be established via an electrically conductive connection. The surface resistance of the connection cap ( ) is designed such that a diversion of electrostatic discharge to the ground potential, with attendant shielding from electromagnetic radiation, ensues, and a predeterminable short-circuit current between the electrical connection contacts ( ) located directly on the connection cap ( ) is not exceeded.

An apparatus for feeding fuel from a supply container to an internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle is described. The apparatus has a fuel feed unit which on the intake side communicates with a suction container, communicating with the supply container, and on the pressure side communicates with the engine, and having a return line for feeding excess fuel into the suction container. In its bottom region the suction container has a closing element, which is movable between a first position, in which the suction container is opened relative to the supply container, and a second position, in which the suction container is closed relative to the supply container. According to the invention, the closing element has an actuating device, preferably a float body, which in particular at a low or zero fuel level in the supply container keeps the closing element in the first, open position, and which, when at least enough fuel is located in the suction container that the fuel feed unit can still furnish enough fuel to the engine, keeps the closing element in the second, closed position.

A method of and an arrangement for rotary speed determination in an electric motor is used to determine an instantaneous motor rotary speed from an alternating portion of the current caused by switching on and off of the commutator with a recognizable periodicity. An endless auto-correlation sequence is formed, and the rotary value is determined from the distance between the maxima or minima of the auto-correlation sequence. In combination with a further method for rotary speed determination from the alternating portion of the current with the use of twice fourier transformations, a very reliable and error-free rotary speed determination is provided.
