An expandable float assembly is insertable through the lower valve bore in an accumulator or a hole in a tank. The assembly includes a sleeve member and a plurality of floatable arm members. The floatable arm members may be folded to a position substantially parallel to the sleeve members for insertion of the expandable float assembly into the accumulator or tank. After insertion of the expandable float assembly into the accumulator or tank the floatable arm members are deployed to a position substantially perpendicular to the sleeve member.

Expandable float assembly for use with an accumulator

A lawnmower engine cutoff system interrupts the electrical flow to the ignition system of an engine when a predetermined weight of clippings is contained within the catch bag for grass clippings. Mechanical movement is generated by the weight of the grass clippings contained in the catch bag. This movement is then sent to a switch in the ignition system of the engine. When the movement reaches a predetermined level, the switch in the electrical system of the engine is opened and the engine ceases operation.

Lawnmower cutoff system

A housing has a cage with supply fluid ports, vent ports and an outlet port. A pilot actuated hollow spool valve element is telescopically movable in the cage and engages poppet seats at opposite ends of the cage. Elongated supply and vent slots directed transversely to the axis of the cage and valve element provide maximum flow passages. The ends of the spool are in contact with the cage at all times and the axial extent of the contact between the spool and the cage is greater than fifty percent. The spool engages the interior of the cage at the fluid ports and vent ports for reducing flow restrictions. A recess coaxially positioned at each end of the cage receives one of the valve seats. The housing abuts the cage for properly loading the valve seats. A dash pot cushions the valve element. A pilot control stem is connected to the valve element exteriorly of the valve element. A seal carrier provides a seal between mating surfaces of an underwater control pod.

Pilot actuated spool valve

A float system for a ball type accumulator includes a circular hollow float member which surrounds the float travel guide rod in the ball type accumulator. Connecting the float member to the vertical guide rod is a ball member which is located in the center of the float. A circular arcuate band surrounds the ball member thus allowing the float to tilt with respect to the vertical guide rod as the level of the fluid tilts within the accumulator. The tilting of the float prevents the float from flooding when the ball type accumulator is moved.

Float system for accumulator

A hose clamp for supporting a vertically extending control line or hose from a position above water to subsea equipment below the water from a vertically extending vertical support such as a wire cable. The clamp includes a circular body with semi-circular halves pivotally connected at one side and having coacting locking means at their second sides for encircling the control line. The interior of the body includes a plurality of projections, preferably a plurality of vertically spaced circular rows of arcuate projections. The hose includes matching and coacting recesses on the exterior of the hose for mating with the projections on the body when the clamp is locked on the hose. Preferably, the recesses are formed by placing a heated clamp mold around the control line having heated projections similar to the projections on the body which will form the recesses by melting the exterior of the lines. Connecting means for securing the body to the wireline may include three J-shaped hooks which are pivotally connected about the body pivot at one side of the halves. Two of the hooks are connected to one of the halves and face in the same direction. The third hook is connected to the other half and faces the opposite direction of the two hooks and being positioned between the two hooks.
