A device for determining a temperature in a passenger compartment of a vehicle comprising a sensor unit for detecting infra-red radiation and a temperature determining unit. The temperature determining unit may be configured so as, in dependence upon the measurement data provided by the sensor unit, to determine a surface temperature of a predetermined object located in the vehicle passenger compartment and, from the determined surface temperature of the object using a first functional relationship, to determine an air temperature in the vehicle passenger compartment. The temperature determining unit may be configured as an alternative or in addition thereto so as, in dependence upon the measurement data provided by the sensor unit, to determine a surface temperature for at least one passenger compartment occupant, and from the determined surface temperature using a second functional relationship to determine a measurement for the level of personal comfort.

A system for air conditioning at least one partial region of an aircraft includes an air providing device for providing air to be supplied to a region of the aircraft to be ventilated at a desired temperature and pressure. A supply air duct is connected at a first end to the air providing device. A second end of the supply air duct is connected to an air inlet which opens near the floor into the aircraft region to be ventilated. A control device is set up to ensure that the air provided by the air providing device enters the aircraft region to be ventilated via the air inlet at such a speed that the air is distributed near the floor in the aircraft region to be ventilated and rises at heat sources present in the aircraft region to be ventilated.

A system for air conditioning at least one partial region of an aircraft comprises an air providing device for providing air to be supplied to a region of the aircraft to be ventilated at a desired temperature and pressure. A supply air duct is connected at a first end to the air providing device. A second end of the supply air duct is connected to an air inlet which opens near the floor into the aircraft region to be ventilated. A control device is set up to ensure that the air provided by the air providing device enters the aircraft region to be ventilated via the air inlet at such a speed that the air is distributed near the floor in the aircraft region to be ventilated and rises at heat sources present in the aircraft region to be ventilated, and that the air provided by the air providing device enters the aircraft region to be ventilated via the air inlet at such a temperature that a desired ambient temperature is set in the aircraft region to be ventilated.

An air guiding element for an aircraft air-conditioning system includes a distributing pipe having an air inlet opening arranged in the region of an end face of the distributing pipe and an air discharge opening arranged in the region of a generated surface of the distributing pipe. The air guiding element further comprises a flow diverting element having a first section connected to the air discharge opening of the distributing pipe and a second section arranged downstream of the first section relative to the direction of the air flow through the air guiding element. The second section is configured to deflect the air as it flows through the second section at an angle of approximately 45 to 135&#xb0; relative to the direction of the air flow through the first section, and a diffuser which is arranged downstream of the second section.
