The invention relates to a connection between two vehicles hinged to one another, e.g. railway coaches or underground coaches, whereas the connection comprises a bellows and an intercommunicating gangway, whereas the connection may be divided transversely to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle into two connection sections, the one forming the bellows section and the other the gangway section (30, 10), whereas each connection section (1) is held by tension means (40) hinged on the coach body (60) of the vehicle and the intercommunicating gangway section (10) is designed as an articulated gangway section.

A connecting platform for use with the end of a railroad car, the platform cooperating with a connecting platform of another car articulated to the railroad car, both railroad cars having the usual spring-biased buffers. The connecting platform includes a platform part supported on the end of the railroad car and slidable with respect to the car in the longitudinal direction of the car, the end face of the platform part remote from the car and the end face of the buffer remote from the car being in substantially the same vertical plane perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the car. A linkage arrangement responds to movement of the buffer toward and away from the car for moving the platform part toward and away from the end of the car so as to maintain the end faces of the buffer and platform part in substantially the same vertical plane. Deflecting blocks are carried by the outer sides of the connecting platform for engagement by the buffers of the other railroad car, the deflecting blocks being tapered toward the end of the railroad car which carries them.

An articulated bridge as a component of a detachable gangway floor plate between two articulated interconnected railroad cars, the bridge being provided with several elongated bridge elements arranged in succession laterally, and running transverse to the direction of the bridge. The articulated extremities of the bridge are defined by the side walls of a frame approximately following the contours of the bridge. One end section of the bridge is designed for attachment to one of the two interconnected railroad cars and the other end section of the bridge is designed for attachment to the corresponding end section of an articulated bridge of the other of the two interconnected railroad cars, both end sections running in the transverse direction of the bridge. The end section of the frame runs in the transverse direction of the bridge, which is allocated to one of the interconnected railroad cars, and is carried in a carriage which is adjustable in a trough of the railroad car, in the longitudinal direction of the bridge, in a path of positioning movement derived from the longitudinal clearance of the coupling between the two railroad cars.

A pivotable sliding door with a main track is suspended in a door frame with a running track by a suspension means having two staggerly jointed partial carriages, the rollers of one of the partial carriages rolling in the main track and the rollers of the other partial carriage rolling in the running track.

Obstacle sensing apparatus for a pivotal door has a drive for operating the door between open and closed positions. Linkage is provided between the pivotal column which supports the door for swinging movement and a platform pivotally mounted on a fixed adjacent structure. When an obstacle is encountered the reactive force pivots the platform through the linkage and activates switches which reverse the drive. Elastic blocks keep the platform centered except when an obstacle is encountered.

Drive for a vehicle door

A swinging door construction for a vehicle comprising a door panel having upper and lower swing arms coupled thereto and connected to a rotatable swing column. A drive mechanism is secured to the body of the vehicle and operatively engages the swing column to rotate the same and effect swinging of the door. The lower swing arm is connected to the swing column by a connecting member which extends upwardly above the drive mechanism and is secured to the swing column.
