A thrust bearing comprises a pair of bearing members and an intermediate seat member. The two bearing members are mountable to a rotating shaft and each includes a substantially spherical bearing surface. The seat member is held between the bearing members, but is free of said rotating shaft. This seat member has oppositely facing, substantially spherical bearing surfaces for mating with and bearing against the substantially spherical bearing surfaces of the two bearing members.

Thrust bearing

There is disclosed a system for dispensing feed and water for livestock which includes a container arranged to receive the feed and water and is adapted to permit access to the feed and the water by the livestock for consumption. The system further includes a feed delivery means for dispensing feed into the container and water dispensing means for dispensing water into the container means. The water dispensing means includes a delivery portion extending into the container which houses a water level sensor. A control means is arranged to actuate the feed delivery means to dispense a controlled amount of feed into the container and is also arranged to actuate the water dispensing means to dispense water into the container through the delivery portion after actuation of the feed delivery means. The water level sensor within the delivery portion disables the water dispensing means after a predetermined level of water within the container is reached and the delivery portion is arranged within the container for washing residual feed within the container from the delivery portion to thereby preclude interference or clogging of the delivery portion and the water level sensor by the residual feed.

Livestock feeder system with water level control

Feeder apparatus is provided for delivering a pre-determined amount of feed to hogs and like livestock. The apparatus includes a feed transporting and dispensing conveyor with which are associated a plurality of feeder units; each unit receives and temporarily stores the feed. Each unit includes a feed receiver body. A boot extends from the body and defines a discharge opening. A pear-shaped stopper valve carried in the boot fits into and onto the discharge opening to obstruct the flow. A stopper valve pull system acts to draw the stopper valve away from the discharge opening, thereby permitting feed flow; if desired, this pull system can be connected to a timer so as to discharge the feed at a pre-selected moment. The stopper valve includes a semi-spheroidal element adapted to fit into and onto the discharge opening and a conical element adapted to be drawn through the feed pile so as to discourage feed bridging and hang-up within the feeder unit body. A discharge tube extending into the feeder unit body includes an extensible and retractable bellows member for varying the height of the feed pile to be collected within the feeder unit.
