The invention relates to a lighting device for issuing a light beam in a main direction along an optical axis. The lighting device comprises a light source and a positive, refractive lens provided on the optical axis, the lens being movable with respect to the light source over the optical axis. The lighting device further comprises a mixing structure provided on the optical axis and having an added blurring strength FWHM, with FWHM being in a range of 3&#xb0; to 15&#xb0;.

A luminaire comprises a first lighting module for providing a first lighting effect such as task lighting. The first lighting module has a front light exit face and a support structure with a rear reflective portion. A second lighting module is for providing a second lighting effect such as decorative lighting, directed to the reflective portion of the support structure. The luminaire is capable of producing the two different lighting effects in different directions.

A lighting device comprising a first light source issuing a first beam and a second light source issuing a second beam. Said first and said second light source are dimmable and together issue light with a total light flux. At a mutually equal light flux of the first and the second beam, the glare level of the second beam is lower than the glare level of the first beam. The lighting device further comprises at least one (programmed) controller which, during operation, moderates said dim levels such that in at least a range of the illumination level a ratio of the dim level of the second beam to the dim level of the first beam increases in a gradual manner with increasing total light flux.
