The use of an aqueous polyurethane dispersion adhesive is described for producing composite foils which are biodisintegratable at home compost conditions where at least two substrates are adhesive-bonded to one another with use of the polyurethane dispersion adhesive, where at least one of the substrates is a polymer foil which is biodisintegratable at home compost conditions. At least 60% by weight of the polyurethane is composed of diisocyanates, polyesterdiols, and at least one bifunctional carboxylic acid selected from dihydroxy carboxylic acids and diamino carboxylic acids, wherein the polyurethane has no melting point above 20° C. or wherein the polyurethane has a melting point above 20° C. with an enthalpy of fusion lower than 10 J/g, and wherein a film of the polyurethane adhesive is biodegradable at home compost conditions.

Composite foils biodisintegratable at home compost conditions

Disclosed herein are composite materials and methods for forming the same. In one embodiment, a composite material comprises a primer layer comprising a polyalkylenimine, and an active layer comprising a binder and a metal organic framework (MOF), wherein the MOF comprises a bidentate organic compound coordinated to a metal ion, and wherein the active layer forms a coating on the primer layer.

Described is an aqueous one-component coating composition comprising dispersed polyurethane and phyllosilicate. The polyurethane carries acid groups which are at least partially neutralized with a hydrophilic base selected from inorganic bases and organic mono-amines. The hydrophilic base has a water solubility at 20&#xb0; C. of at least 150 g/l, preferably of at least 200 g/l. The composition can be used for providing oxygen barrier properties to a polymer film.

The use of an aqueous Solution comprising at least one polyanion and at least one high molecular weight polyethyleneimine is described, for providing oxygen barrier properties to a polymer film. A coated polymer foil is described and can be produced via coating of a polymer foil with an aqueous composition comprising (A) a polymer which is obtained via free-radical polymerization and which is composed of from 10 to 80% by weight of a compound selected from ethylenically unsaturated anhydrides and ethylenically unsaturated dicarboxylic acids, the carboxylic acid groups of which can form an anhydride group, and (B) an alkanolamine having at least two hydroxy groups. The coating gives the polymer foil an oxygen barrier and can in particular be used for producing packaging.

Described is paper or cardboard packaging produced from mineral oil contaminated, recycled paper, wherein the packaging includes a barrier layer obtainable by applying an aqueous polymeric dispersion comprising a copolymer obtainable by emulsion polymerization of C1-C4 alkyl(meth)acrylates, acid monomers, e.g., acrylic acid or methacrylic acid, 0-20 wt % of acrylonitrile and 0 to 10 wt % of further monomers, wherein the glass transition temperature of the copolymer is in the range from +10 to +45&#xb0; C. The barrier layer may be situated on one of the surfaces of the packaging or form one of multiple layers of a multilayered packaging coating or be situated as a coating on one side of an inner bag situated within the packaging.
