A method is disclosed for collecting data for evaluating the quality of experience of a service provided to a user over a communications network. The method comprises: providing an agent on a user device; by the agent, collecting rough measurement data indicative of parameters related to an operation of the device during an instance of service fruition, providing derived measurement data from the rough data and sending them to a server; at the server, determining an ending of the instance and checking, based on the derived data, forwarding conditions indicating at least one condition to be satisfied in order for the server to send a questionnaire to the user device, comprising questions related to the instance of service fruition; after the ending of the instance, in case the conditions are satisfied, sending the questionnaire from the server to the device; and collecting by the agent a user feedback.

A communications network includes a set of user terminals to which communication services are provided by means of a set of service areas identified by cells with respective associated cell serving stations, each serving station having certain output transmission power and service capacity values. A method for planning cellular mobile telecommunications network including at least one network cell and intended to provide network services to user equipment located in the network cell, wherein the network services include at least one network service deliverable at a plurality of provisioning rates, including evaluating an uplink coverage of the network in a predetermined service area. The evaluation of the uplink coverage includes: a) forecasting a number of user equipment located in the service area; b) setting a current provisioning rate to the highest of provisioning rates; c) estimating a power required for each user equipment for accessing the at least one network service in the service area at the current provisioning rate; and d) comparing the estimated required power to a maximum power deliverable by each user equipment. If the estimated required power exceeds the maximum deliverable power: e) determining a reduced service area wherein the estimated power required to each user equipment of a reduced number of user equipment located therein for accessing the at least one network service at the current provisioning rate does not exceed the maximum deliverable power; f) updating the current provisioning rate to the immediately lower provisioning rate of the plurality; and g) repeating steps c) and d) and, if required, steps e) and f).

Method for planning a cellular mobile telecommunications network

A method for planning a cellular mobile telecommunications network includes at least one network cell and is intended to provide network services to users located in the network cell. The method includes: a) initializing, for the at least one network cell, a service area and a transmission power for each user equipment; b) estimating a total power received by the at least one network cell from user equipment located in the service area and using the at least one network service; c) based on the estimated total received power, varying the transmission powers required to user equipment located in the service area in order to reach a target quality of service constraint for the at least one network service; d) iterating the steps b) and c) until a stability condition is reached wherein the transmission power variation for at least a predetermined fraction of the user equipment is lower than a predetermined threshold; e) calculating a total received power corresponding to the transmission powers at the end of step d); f) calculating an uplink load factor corresponding to the total received power calculated in step e); g) ascertaining whether the calculated uplink load factor is lower than a maximum uplink load factor, and, in the negative case: h) restricting said service area; and i) repeating the steps from b) to g).

A method of assigning scrambling codes to cells of a CDMA cellular mobile communications network includes assigning to each cell of a set of cells of a network area a cell attribute adapted to identify a cell typology, and, for each cell, assigning a respective primary scrambling code according to the cell typology, exploiting said cell attribute. The cell attribute includes a first attribute value adapted to identify a cell in which a complexity of computation to be performed by the user equipment for determining the cell primary scrambling code is to be minimized, and a second attribute value adapted to identify a cell in which a synchronization time of mobile communications user equipment is to be minimized. A method for planning a telecommunication network for radio apparatuses includes a plurality of cells distributed over a geographical area, each of which has a set of elementary areas of territory called pixels adapted to receive a radio signal irradiated by a fixed radio base station in which for each cell is determined a service area of the location of the pixels of the cell in which the network is able to provide predetermined services to the mobile apparatuses located therein. The pixels belonging to the service area pertaining to a predetermined cell are identified according to a criterion for selection in succession based on the values of a sorting function, which is a function of the quantity of traffic pertaining to the pixels being examined, and the resulting service area is computed as a set of the pixels of the cell progressively selected in a manner that the sum of the contributions of the individual pixel does not exceed a predetermined limit value of the load factor of the cell. The present invention relates to a system and method for planning networks for mobile terminals that use a radio interface based on the Code Division Multiple Access or CDMA technique.
