A method for wirelessly powering a device includes: acoustically coupling an acoustic transmitter to an external surface of a mammal at an approximate location of an implantable device disposed in the mammal; producing, with the acoustic source, acoustic energy having a frequency in a frequency range of about 0.5 MHz to about 3 MHz; receiving the acoustic energy with one or more transducers in the implantable device, the one or more transducers electrically connected to an electric circuit, the one or more transducers having a length in a length range of about 1 wavelength to about 10 wavelengths of the acoustic energy; converting, with the one or more transducers, the acoustic energy to electric energy; and providing the electric energy to a device electrically connected to the electric circuit.

System and method for powering an implantable device using acoustic energy

Embodiments provide an ultrasound treatment system. In some embodiments, the system includes a removable transducer module having an ultrasound transducer. In some embodiments, the system can include a hand wand and a control module that is coupled to the hand wand and has a graphical user interface for controlling the removable transducer module, and an interface coupling the hand wand to the control module. The interface may provide power to the hand wand or may transfer a signal from the hand wand to the control module. In some embodiments, the treatment system may be used in cosmetic procedures on at least a portion of a face, head, neck, and/or other part of a patient.

A dental instrument comprises a fluid driven handpiece in fluid communication with a valve; a source of fluid in fluid communication with the valve; and a controller in electrical communication with the valve and an actuator positioned on the handpiece. The actuator is configured to cause the valve to move between a first position in which fluid cannot flow from the source of fluid to the handpiece and a second position in which fluid flows from the source of fluid to the handpiece thereby driving the handpiece. The dental instrument may further comprise a second actuator in communication with the controller. The second actuator is configured to cause the valve to move between the first position in which fluid cannot flow from the source of fluid to the handpiece and the second position in which fluid flows from the source of fluid to the handpiece thereby driving the handpiece.

A dental monitoring system comprises a intra-oral insert configured to be received in the mouth of a subject; a sensor connected to the intra-oral insert and in electrical communication with a controller having a non-volatile memory; a transponder coil received in the intra-oral insert and in electrical communication with the controller; and a transceiver coil in selective wireless electrical communication with the transponder coil. The selective wireless communication between the transponder coil and the transceiver coil is provided by near-field communication.

Methods and systems for treating skin, such as stretch marks through deep tissue tightening with ultrasound are provided. An exemplary method and system comprise a therapeutic ultrasound system configured for providing ultrasound treatment to a shallow tissue region, such as a region comprising an epidermis, a dermis or a deep dermis. In accordance with various exemplary embodiments, a therapeutic ultrasound system can be configured to achieve depth with a conformal selective deposition of ultrasound energy without damaging an intervening tissue. In addition, a therapeutic ultrasound can also be configured in combination with ultrasound imaging or imaging/monitoring capabilities, either separately configured with imaging, therapy and monitoring systems or any level of integration thereof.

An exemplary method and treatment system are configured for the imaging, monitoring, and thermal injury to treat the SMAS region. Methods for treating skin and subcutaneous tissue with energy such as ultrasound energy are disclosed. In various embodiments, ultrasound energy is applied at a region of interest to affect tissue by cutting, ablating, micro-ablating, coagulating, or otherwise affecting the subcutaneous tissue to conduct numerous procedures that are traditionally done invasively in a non-invasive manner. Methods for lifting skin tissue

An infusion system for subcutaneous delivery of a fluid to a subject is disclosed. The infusion system comprises a source of a fluid; a fluid delivery system; a first fluid conduit in fluid communication with the source of the fluid and the fluid delivery system; a fluid injection device configured to be inserted into the skin of a subject for delivering the fluid to the subject; a second fluid conduit in fluid communication with the fluid delivery system and the fluid injection device; and a support frame attached to the source of the fluid and the fluid delivery system, wherein the support frame is configured to mount the source of the fluid and the fluid delivery system on a region of a head of the subject. The fluid delivery system moves the fluid from the source of the fluid, through the first fluid conduit, through the second fluid conduit, and through the fluid injection device.

Systems and methods for treating skin and subcutaneous tissue with energy such as ultrasound energy are disclosed. In various embodiments, ultrasound energy is applied at a region of interest to affect tissue by cutting, ablating, micro-ablating, coagulating, or otherwise affecting the subcutaneous tissue to conduct numerous procedures that are traditionally done invasively in a non-invasive manner. Systems and methods for noninvasive tissue tightening are disclosed. Thermal treatment of tissues such as superficial muscular aponeurosis system (SMAS) tissue, muscle, adipose tissue, dermal tissue, and combinations thereof are described. In one aspect, a system is configured for treating tissue through delivery of ultrasound energy at a depth, distribution, temperature, and energy level to achieve a desired cosmetic effect.

Noninvasive tissue tightening system

Ultrasonic transmitting elements in an electroacoustical transceiver transmit acoustic energy to an electroacoustical transponder, which includes ultrasonic receiving elements to convert the acoustic energy into electrical power for the purposes of powering one or more sensors that are electrically coupled to the electroacoustical transponder. The electroacoustical transponder transmits data collected by the sensor(s) back to the electroacoustical transceiver wirelessly, such as through impedance modulation or electromagnetic waves. A feedback control loop can be used to adjust system parameters so that the electroacoustical transponder operates at an impedance minimum. An implementation of the system can be used to collect data in a vehicle, such as the tire air pressure. Another implementation of the system can be used to collect data in remote locations, such as in pipes, enclosures, in wells, or in bodies of water.

System for providing power to a stationary underwater control station

A method and system for energy-based (e.g., ultrasound treatment and/or other modalities) of skin glands are provided. An exemplary method and system for targeted treatment of skin glands, such as sweat and/or sebaceous glands, can be configured in various manners, such as through use of therapy only, therapy and monitoring, imaging and therapy, or therapy, imaging, and monitoring, and/or through use of focused, unfocused, or defocused ultrasound (or other energy) through control of various spatial and temporal parameters. As a result, ablative energy can be deposited at the particular depth at which the skin gland population is located below the skin surface.
