A display device includes a conductive pattern on a substrate, a via layer on the conductive pattern with a via hole exposing the conductive pattern, a first electrode and a second electrode on the via layer and spaced apart from each other, a first insulating layer on the first electrode and the second electrode, a bank layer on the first insulating layer defining an emission area and a subarea, a light-emitting element on the first insulating layer, and a first connection electrode and a second connection electrode on the first insulating layer and the light-emitting element. The first connection electrode electrically contacts an end of the light-emitting element, and the second connection electrode electrically contacts another end of the light-emitting element. The bank layer includes a bank extension portion extended to the subarea and the bank extension portion overlaps at least a portion of the via hole.

Display device and method of manufacturing the same

A display device includes a substrate, first and second bridge electrodes on the substrate and spaced apart from each other, a first electrode on the first bridge electrode, a second electrode on the second bridge electrode and spaced apart from the first electrode, a first insulating layer on the first electrode and the second electrode, a light emitting element on the first insulating layer, and on the first electrode and the second electrode, a first connection electrode on the first electrode, and contacting the light emitting element and the first bridge electrode, and a second connection electrode on the second electrode, and contacting the light emitting element and the second bridge electrode, wherein the first electrode directly contacts the first bridge electrode, and is separated from the first connection electrode, and wherein the second electrode directly contacts the second bridge electrode, and is separated from the second connection electrode.

Display device

A display device includes: a substrate; a first bank including a first sub-bank and a second sub-bank spaced apart from each other on the substrate; a first electrode on the first sub-bank; a second electrode on the second sub-bank and spaced apart from the first electrode; and a light-emitting element between the first sub-bank and the second sub-bank. Each of the first and second sub-banks has a first area having a concave curved shape in a cross section and being adjacent to the light-emitting element. The first electrode has a first section extending beyond the first sub-bank toward the light-emitting element, the second electrode has a first section extending beyond the second sub-bank toward the light-emitting element, and a width of the first section of the first electrode is different from a width of the first section of the second electrode.

A display device includes a lower substrate, a light emitting structure, a lower wire, an upper wire, an insulating layer, and a connection pattern. The light emitting structure is disposed in a display area on the lower substrate. The lower wire is disposed in a peripheral area on the lower substrate. The upper wire is disposed on the lower wire, and partially overlaps the lower wire. The insulating layer structure includes a first contact hole that exposes a first portion of the upper wire, which overlaps the lower wire, and a first portion of the lower wire, which is adjacent to a portion of the lower wire that overlaps the upper wire. The connection pattern is disposed on the insulating layer structure, the lower wire, and the upper wire, and electrically connects the upper wire to the lower wire through the first contact hole.

A display device includes: a gate line including a gate line portion; a data line; a transistor including a gate electrode connected to the gate line, a source electrode connected to the data line, and a drain electrode; and a connecting member disposed between the data line and the source electrode, connected to the data line and the source electrode to cross a gate electrode edge of the gate electrode. A connecting portion where a data line edge and a connecting member edge are connected to each other does not overlap the gate line and the gate electrode in a plan view. The data line includes a first data line portion crossing the gate line and a second data line portion connected to the first data line portion and does not overlap the gate line in the plan view.

Display device including a patterned conductive layer

An exemplary embodiment of the present inventive concept provides a display device including: a substrate; a metal layer disposed on the substrate; a pixel electrode disposed on the metal layer and including a protrusion overlapping the metal layer; a first insulating layer covering the metal layer and the pixel electrode; an extension of a drain electrode disposed on the first insulating layer and overlapping a portion of the protrusion; a second insulating layer covering the first insulating layer and the extension; and a pixel electrode connector disposed on the second insulating layer and overlapping the protrusion and the extension, wherein the first insulating layer and the second insulating layer include a first opening exposing an upper surface of the protrusion and an upper surface of the extension, and the pixel electrode connector contacts the upper surface of the extension and the upper surface of the protrusion through the first opening.

Display device having an improved electrical connection between a pixel electrode and a switching element and manufacturing method thereof

A display device may include the following elements: a substrate; a light blocking layer disposed on the substrate; a first insulating layer disposed on the light blocking layer; a transistor including a source or drain electrode having an extension that overlaps each of the first insulating layer and the light blocking layer; a second insulating layer disposed on the extension; and a pixel electrode disposed on the second insulating layer. The first insulating layer and the second insulating layer may include a contact hole that exposes a portion of the light blocking layer and exposes a portion of the extension. The pixel electrode may directly contact each of the portion of the extension and the portion of the light blocking layer.

A liquid crystal display device including a display area, a non-display area surrounding the display area and including a first non-display area disposed on a first side, in a first direction, of the display area and a second non-display area disposed on a second side, in the first direction, of the display area, a first substrate including a first base and a plurality of spacers that are disposed on a first surface of the first base, a second substrate disposed on the first substrate, and a liquid crystal layer disposed between the first and second substrates. The spacers include first spacers, having a first thickness, disposed in the non-display area and second spacers, having a second thickness greater than the first thickness, disposed in the non-display area. A number of second spacers disposed in a first non-display area is different from a number of second spacers disposed in a second non-display area.

Liquid crystal display device

An LCD includes: pixel electrodes; a common electrode including a plurality of slits; and a liquid crystal layer interposed between the pixel electrodes and the common electrode. The plurality of slits include a first slit and a second slit that are disposed adjacent to each other in a first direction. The first slit includes a first central portion and a first extension portion extending from the first central portion toward the second slit, and the second slit includes a second central portion and a first extension portion extending from the second central portion toward the first slit. An end of the first extension portion of the first slit and an end of the first extension portion of the second slit are spaced apart from each other; and disposed, in a staggered manner, on opposite sides of an imaginary center line connecting the first central portion and the second central portion.

A thin film transistor (TFT) substrate includes a base substrate, a TFT disposed on the base substrate. The TFT includes a gate electrode, a semiconductor layer comprising a channel region, and a source electrode and a drain electrode spaced apart from one another by a length of the channel region. The TFT substrate further includes a gate insulating layer disposed between the gate electrode and the semiconductor layer and a measuring pattern configured to measure a length of the channel region.
