The data lines extend in a second direction crossing the first direction. The active patterns overlap the cutting portion and overlap a first gate line.

The pixel electrode includes a stem defining boundaries between the subregions, and a width of the stem changes from a center portion of the pixel electrode to a peripheral portion of the pixel electrode.

An array substrate includes a gate line, a data line, a thin film transistor (TFT), a pixel electrode and a storage line. The pixel electrode includes a main pixel electrode and a sub pixel electrode partly surrounding at least a portion of the main pixel electrode. The storage line includes a main storage line that extends substantially parallel to the gate line and across the pixel electrode, a sub storage line that extends from the main storage line and substantially parallel to the data line to overlap the sub pixel electrode, and a protruding storage line that extends from the sub storage line and substantially parallel to the gate line to overlap the main pixel electrode.

Display substrate and method of manufacturing the same

An array substrate includes a switching device, a storage capacitor and a voltage-dividing capacitor. The switching device is formed in a pixel region defined by two gate lines adjacent to each other and two data lines adjacent to each other. The storage capacitor is electrically connected to the switching device. The voltage-dividing capacitor is disposed between the storage capacitor and one of the gate lines. The voltage-dividing capacitor is electrically connected to the storage capacitor. Therefore, an overlapping area with the data lines is reduced to reduce the RC delay and enhance aperture ratio. Furthermore, a possibility of occurrence of an electrical short is reduced.

Array substrate, method of manufacturing the same, display panel having the same, and liquid crystal display apparatus having the same

A display substrate in accordance with one or more embodiments includes a first line pattern, a first insulation layer, a second line pattern, a color filter layer and a pixel electrode, which are formed on a substrate. The first line pattern includes a gate line and a light-blocking layer. The light-blocking layer has a first opening portion formed in a storage capacitor region. The first insulation layer is formed on the substrate having the first line pattern. The second line pattern is formed on the first insulation layer. The color filter layer is formed on the substrate having the second line pattern, and has a second opening portion overlapping with the storage electrode. The pixel electrode is formed on the substrate having the color filter layer. Thus, short circuits between the storage electrode and the pixel electrode may be prevented.

The present invention provides a liquid crystal display (LCD). The LCD includes: a liquid crystal panel that includes a plurality of gate lines; and a gate driver that includes a plurality of stages, which are connected to the gate lines, respectively, and sequentially provide a plurality of gate signals to the gate lines, respectively, and a first dummy stage and a second dummy stage that are separated from each other, wherein the first dummy stage is enabled by a carry signal of one of the stages, and the second dummy stage is enabled by a carry signal of the first dummy stage and initializes each of the stages.

Liquid crystal display

A thin-film transistor ('TFT') substrate includes an insulating substrate, a gate line and a data line which are insulated from each other, disposed on the insulating substrate and are arranged in a lattice, and a pixel electrode which is electrically connected to the gate line and the data line by a switching device. The data line includes a lower layer which is formed of a transparent electrode, and an upper layer which is disposed directly on the lower layer.

Thin-film transistor substrate and method of fabricating the same

A thin film transistor array substrate and its manufacturing method are disclosed. A thin film transistor (TFT) includes a gate electrode formed on a substrate, and source and drain electrodes formed on the gate electrode and separated from each other. A common line made of the same material as the gate electrode is formed on the substrate. A storage capacitor includes a storage electrode connected with a storage electrode line and a pixel electrode formed on the storage electrode. The storage electrode and the pixel electrode are formed by patterning a transparent conductive film, and accordingly, light can be transmitted through the region where the storage capacitor is formed to thus increase an aperture ratio.

Thin film transistor array substrate and manufacturing method thereof

A display substrate, a method of fabricating the same, and a liquid crystal display apparatus having the same. The display substrate includes a storage electrode extending over first and second areas formed on a substrate, a insulating layer pattern formed on the storage electrode, and first and second pixel electrodes formed on the insulating layer pattern. At least one of the first and second pixel electrodes has at least one recess. The insulating layer pattern has first and second openings formed in the first and second areas corresponding to the storage electrode. Accordingly, electric short circuits between the first and second pixel electrodes is prevented due to the recess or the openings during the manufacturing process for the first and second pixel electrodes.

Display substrate, method of fabricating the same, and liquid crystal display device having the same

Disclosed is a liquid crystal display apparatus including a first substrate, a second substrate, and a liquid crystal layer interposed between the first substrate and the second substrate. A pixel area is defined on the first substrate. A pixel electrode includes a cut-out pattern and is formed in the pixel area. A conductive pattern is disposed between the first substrate and the pixel electrode, and partially overlaps the cut-out pattern when viewed from a plan view. A common electrode is disposed on the second substrate and includes a domain divider dividing the pixel area into a plurality of domains. A light blocking member is disposed on one of the first substrate and the second substrate, and is positioned corresponding to a portion of areas in which the cut-out pattern overlaps the conductive pattern within the pixel area.
