Disclosed is an electrode assembly manufacturing method, in which, in a step of stacking and pressing electrodes and a separator, the pressing is performed in that state in which pores of a porous substrate are filled with a polymer solution. The form or volume of the pores is not changed due to the polymer solution. Consequently, porosity of the separator after manufacture of an electrode assembly is similar to porosity of the separator before stacking. As a result, a battery including the electrode assembly has high ionic conductivity and excellent performance.

The coating layer comprises an acrylate-based binder and an additive. A separator for secondary batteries, including: a separator substrate having at least one surface, wherein the separator substrate includes a polyolefin-based polymer resin having a porous structure and a coating layer is applied to one surface or opposite surfaces of a separator substrate made of a polyolefin-based polymer resin having a porous structure, wherein the coating layer includes a thickener, a filler, a particle-type binder, and a dissolution-type binder, wherein the thickener comprises carboxymethyl cellulose, and wherein an amount of the particle-type binder is greater than an amount of the dissolution-type binder.
