Disclosed herein is a method for quantifying a pigmented lesion using Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT). The method includes (a) irradiating light and receiving an interference signal produced by reflection of the light from first and second boundary layers of a pigmented lesion; and (b) calculating size information of the pigmented lesion using phase information of the interference signal. According to embodiments of the present invention, there is an advantage of allowing calculation of size information of a pigmented lesion using OCT, by increasing a measurement range in the axial direction to which beams are irradiated.

System and method for quantifying pigmented lesion using OCT

The present invention relates to a three-dimensional oral cavity scan device for a digital impression that obtains a three-dimensional image by processing a two-dimensional image acquired by photographing a three-dimensional subject in an oral cavity. The device includes: a pattern mask converting parallel light incident thereto into structured light; a piezoelectric plate where a mechanical vibration is generated on a surface thereof by an AC voltage applied thereto; and a power supply unit applying the AC voltage to the piezoelectric plate, wherein the piezoelectric plate moves the pattern mask in a longitudinal direction of the piezoelectric plate by using the mechanical vibration. The device can reduce noise and vibration by moving the pattern mask with an electrical method. In addition, the device can accurately measure depth of teeth by electrically controlling a focal length of structured light projected on the teeth.

Provided is an apparatus for acquiring and projecting a broadband image. The apparatus includes a probe unit provided with a white light source unit configured to emit white light for acquiring a visible light image to a subject, a fluorescence excitation light source unit configured to emit fluorescence excitation light for acquiring an invisible light fluorescence image, an image acquisition unit configured to receive an invisible light fluorescence image signal for the subject, and an image projection unit configured to project an image onto the subject; and an image processing unit configured to process an image received from the image acquisition unit. This apparatus may simultaneously acquire and display the visible light image and the invisible light fluorescence image.

Multi-channel optical modules are provided. The multi-channel optical module may include a plurality of optical devices receiving or transmitting optical signals, a housing for optically coupling the plurality of optical devices to an optical fiber, at least one optical filter separating or multiplexing the optical signals according to wavelengths of the optical signals between the optical fiber and the plurality of optical devices, and at least one filter holder protruding into an inside of the housing. The optical filter may be mounted on the filter holder to align optical paths between the optical fiber and the optical devices.

Provided is an image extraction method of optical phase extraction system. The image extraction method may include checking whether a phase error due to an environmental disturbance of optical fiber occurs by monitoring an output signal obtained by interfering reflection optical signals reflected through two paths. When a phase error occurs, an error is compensated using a phase compensation control method of closed loop type through one of the two paths and an image is extracted by capturing an image of object in a state that the image of object is shifted by the set phase value when a phase error is compensated. According to the inventive concept, a phase error occurring in an optical fiber type interferometer due to an environmental disturbance is minimized or compensated. Also, since an interference image accurately shifted by the phase value set among arbitrary various phase values is obtained through a camera, reliability of three-dimensional phase information being extracted is guaranteed.

Disclosed are an optical probe using a sensor and a method for controlling the same. The optical probe includes: an optical converter to change a light path of light generated from a light source; a vibrator to convert an electrical signal into a mechanical motion; a transmission member to transmit the motion of the vibrator to the optical converter; a position sensor to sense the position of the optical converter; and a controller to adjust the position of the optical converter by controlling the vibrator based on the position sensed by the position sensor.

A method of measuring a relative phase of a bio-cell using a digital image sensor, comprising the steps of firstly filtering a light emitted from a light source, using a first polarizer and a first wave plate, which are arranged in order in a optical path, exposing a bio-cell to the firstly filtered light, secondly filtering the light passing through the bio-cell, using a second wave plate and a second polarizer, which are arranged in order in the optical path, and sensing an intensity of the secondly filtered light, by each of pixels of the image sensor, wherein, as conditions of the second filtering are varied, optical properties of the bio-cell are calculated using the intensity of the light in a pixel-wise manner.

There is provided an apparatus for measuring a residual stress of an optical fiber including a light generation unit that generates light; a lens unit that converts the generated light into collimated light; a polarization unit including variable polarization devices that divide the collimated light into two perpendicularly polarized light beams and control phase retardation of the polarized light beams by means of an electrical signal; a measurement unit that allows the divided light beams of two polarization states to penetrate an optical fiber to be measured; and a light detection unit that detects the polarization states of the light beams penetrating the optical fiber.
