A graphite steel available as a material for mechanical parts of industrial machines or automobiles, and more particularly, a steel wire for graphitization heat treatment and a graphite steel and methods of manufacturing the same. The graphite steel includes, in percent by weight (wt %), 0.6 to 0.9% of carbon (C), 2.0 to 2.5% of silicon (Si), 0.1 to 0.6% of manganese (Mn), 0.015% or less of phosphorus (P), 0.03% or less of sulfur (S), 0.01 to 0.05% of aluminum (Al), 0.01 to 0.02% of titanium (Ti), 0.0005 to 0.002% of boron (B), 0.003 to 0.015% of nitrogen (N), 0.005% or less of oxygen (O), and the remainder of iron (Fe) and inevitable impurities, and satisfying Equation (1) below: wherein graphite grains are distributed in a ferrite base as a microstructure and a graphitization rate is 100%, (1) −0.003<[N]−[Ti]/3.43−[B]/0.77<0.003, wherein in Equation (1), [Ti], [N], and [B] are wt % of titanium, nitrogen, and boron, respectively.

Wire rod for graphitization heat treatment, graphite steel, and manufacturing method therefor

An embodiment of the present invention provides a wire rod and a method of manufacturing same. The wire rod comprises, by weight %, 0.3-0.5 wt % of C, 0.02-0.4 wt % of Si, 1.0-1.5 wt % of Mn, 0.3-0.7 wt % of Cr, 0.003 wt % or less (exclusive of 0 wt %) of B, less than 0.03 wt % (exclusive of 0 wt %) of Ti, 0.03 wt % or less (inclusive of 0 wt %) of P, 0.01 wt % or less (inclusive of 0 wt %) of S, 0.02-0.05 wt % of Al, 0.001-0.01 wt % of N, and the balance being Fe and inevitable impurities, wherein a microstructure is a complex structure having a main phase of ferrite+pearlite, with at least one of bainite or martensite accounting for 5 area % or less (inclusive of 0%), and has a cementite average aspect ratio of 35 or less in an area covering ⅖-⅗ of the diameter.

Steel wire rod having excellent spheroidizing heat treatment properties and method of manufacturing same

The present disclosure relates to a steel wire rod enabling the omission of softening heat treatment and a method of manufacturing same. An embodiment of the present disclosure provides a steel wire rod enabling the omission of softening heat treatment and a method of manufacturing same, the steel wire rod comprising, in weight %, 0.2-0.45% of C, 0.02-0.4% of Si, 0.3-1.5% of Mn, 0.01-1.5% of Cr, 0.02-0.05% of Al, 0.01-0.5% of Mo, 0.01% or less of N, and the balance Fe and other unavoidable impurities, wherein the microstructure of the steel wire rod is a composite structure of proeutectoid ferrite+perlite as a main phase; the steel wire rod contains 10 area % or less (including 0%) of at least one of bainite or martensite; and the average colony size of the perlite is 5 μm or less.

Steel wire rod enabling omission of softening heat treatment and method of manufacturing same

The present disclosure provides a wire rod for cold heading that can shorten the spheroidizing heat treatment time, processed products using the same, and manufacturing method thereof. Wire rod for cold heading, processed product using same, and manufacturing method therefor

Provided are an austenitic steel having excellent machinability and ultra-low temperature toughness in a weld heat-affected zone including 15 wt % to 35 wt % of manganese (Mn), carbon (C) satisfying 23.6C+Mn&#x2265;28 and 33.5C&#x2212;Mn&#x2264;23, 5 wt % or less (excluding 0 wt %) of copper (Cu), chromium (Cr) satisfying 28.5C+4.4Cr&#x2264;57 (excluding 0 wt %), and iron (Fe) as well as other unavoidable impurities as a remainder, wherein a Charpy impact value of a weld heat-affected zone at &#x2212;196&#xb0; C. is 41 J or more, and a method of manufacturing the steel. According to the present invention, a low-cost ultra-low temperature steel may be obtained, a stable austenite phase may be formed at low temperature, carbide formation may be effectively suppressed, and a structural steel having excellent machinability and ultra-low temperature toughness in a weld heat-affected zone may be provided.

Provided is a steel having excellent weldability and impact toughness in a welding zone comprising: by weight (wt.) %, carbon (C): 0.1% to 0.3%, manganese (Mn): 11% to 13%, iron (Fe) as a residual component thereof, and other inevitable impurities, and positive and negative segregation zones in a layered form. The positive segregation zone comprises austenite and epsilon martensite, and the negative segregation zone comprises, by area fraction, epsilon martensite of less than 5% and alpha martensite.

Steel having excellent weldability and impact toughness of welding zone

The present invention relates to a high strength austenitic-based steel with remarkable toughness of a welding heat-affected zone and a preparation method therefor. One embodiment of the present invention provides: a high strength austenitic-based steel with remarkable toughness of a welding heat-affected zone, comprising 0.8-1.5 wt % of C, 15-22 wt % of Mn, 5 wt % or less of Cr (except 0), and the balance of Fe and other inevitable impurities, and further comprising at least one of the following (a) and (b), wherein the microstructure of a welding heat-affected zone comprises 90% or more of austenite by volume fraction; and a preparation method therefor. High strength austenitic-based steel with remarkable toughness of welding heat-affected zone and preparation method therefor

A high-manganese wear-resistant steel having excellent weldability comprises 5 to 15 wt % of Mn, 16&#x2264;33.5C+Mn&#x2264;30 of C, 0.05 to 1.0 wt % of Si, and a balance of Fe and other inevitable impurities. The microstructure thereof includes martensite as a major component, and 5% to 40% of residual austenite by area fraction.

High-manganese wear resistant steel having excellent weldability and method for manufacturing same

There are provided a wear resistant austenitic steel having superior machinability and toughness in weld heat affected zones and a method for producing the austenitic steel. The austenitic steel includes, by weight %, manganese (Mn): 15% to 25%, carbon (C): 0.8% to 1.8%, copper (Cu) satisfying 0.7C-0.56(%)&#x2266;Cu&#x2266;5%, and the balance of iron (Fe) and inevitable impurities, wherein the weld heat affected zones have a Charpy impact value of 100 J or greater at &#x2212;40&#xb0; C. The toughness of the austenitic steel is not decreased in weld heat affected zones because the formation of carbides during welding is suppressed, and the machinability of the austenitic steel is improved so that a cutting process may be easily performed on the austenitic steel. The corrosion resistance of the austenitic steel is improved so that the austenitic steel may be used for an extended period of time in corrosive environments.
