A line-on glass type liquid crystal display panel that is adapted to prevent signal interference and electromagnetic interference between line-on glass type signal lines. The liquid crystal display panel of the invention includes a picture display part with a matrix of liquid crystal cells, multiple line-on glass type signal lines located in an outer area of the picture display part for applying drive signals to drive the liquid crystal cells, and a dummy line formed between the line-on glass type signal lines with at least a layer of insulating film therebetween.

A liquid crystal display has a storage capacitor of storage on common type in a pixel region with a passivation film of an inorganic insulating layer and an organic layer stacked on the inorganic insulating layer. The liquid crystal display includes: a storage capacitor lower electrode formed in the pixel region; a gate insulating layer formed on the storage capacitor lower electrode; the passivation film formed on the gate insulating layer, and a pixel electrode formed on the inorganic insulating layer. A method for forming a display device, includes forming a thin film transistor (TFT), a gate pad and a data pad on a substrate; depositing sequentially an inorganic insulating material and an organic insulating material on the substrate having the TFT, the gate pad and the data pad; selectively removing the organic insulating material using a diffracting mask to form a patterned organic insulating layer; selectively removing the inorganic insulating material, using at least a portion of the patterned organic insulating layer as a mask to define contact holes for the TFT, the gate pad and the data pad; and forming electrodes in the contact holes.

Method of fabricating liquid crystal display device

The thin film transistor substrate increases an aperture ratio as well as prevents shorts between pixel electrodes by connecting drain electrodes of thin film transistors to storage electrodes to reduce the number of holes contacting the pixel electrodes. In the method of forming the thin film transistor substrate, drain electrode patterns are formed such that drain electrodes included in thin film transistors are electrically connected to storage electrodes included in storage capacitors. Accordingly, the number of holes contacting the pixel electrodes can be reduced so that an aperture ratio can be increased, or shorts between pixel electrodes can be prevented. Also, the drain electrode patterns are formed from the same conductive layer as the data lines supplying data signals to the thin film transistors, and a constant spacing between the two can be obtained to maintain a uniform parasitic capacitance therebetween and prevent deterioration of the data signal.

Thin film transistor substrate of liquid crystal display and method of manufacture

A method of fabricating a liquid crystal display device, includes forming a gate electrode and a gate pad over a substrate; forming a gate insulating film over the substrate; forming a semiconductor layer over the gate insulating film; forming a source electrode, a drain electrode and a data pad over the gate insulating film; depositing an inorganic insulating material on the gate insulating film; depositing an organic insulating material over the inorganic insulating material; removing selectively the organic insulating material at a partial area over the drain electrode, the gate pad and the data pad, to leave a portion of the organic insulating material over the gate pad and the data pad; patterning the gate insulating film and the inorganic insulating material using at least a portion of the remaining organic insulating material as a mask, thereby providing an inorganic protective film, an organic protective film, a drain contact hole, a gate contact hole and a data contact hole; and forming a pixel electrode on the inorganic protective film by depositing a transparent conductive film onto the inorganic protective film and the organic protective film and patterning the transparent conductive film, and forming a gate protective electrode and a data protective electrode on the inorganic protective film.

A liquid crystal display device that is capable of preventing a deterioration of liquid crystal generated at the outer area of an IPS mode TFT array. In the device, a plurality of data lines apply data signals to a thin film transistor array and a plurality of gate lines apply gate signals to the thin film transistor array. A plurality of gate links is extended from the gate lines into the outer area of the thin film transistor array. A plurality of common voltage lines is provided in such a manner to cross the gate links to apply a common voltage to the thin film transistor array. Accordingly, a deterioration of liquid crystal caused by the gate voltage at the outer area of the TFT array can be prevent to eliminate a generation of stain.
