Technologies directed to a control circuit using dynamic signal compression are described. A control circuit includes a front-end module (FEM) coupled to an RF cable, the FEM having a low-noise amplifier (LNA). The control circuit further includes an automatic gain control (AGC) circuitry coupled to the FEM. The AGC circuitry receives a first radio frequency (RF) signal having a first portion of one or more symbols and a second portion of one or more symbols. The AGC circuitry further amplifies the first portion to generate a first portion of an output signal. The AGC circuitry further compresses the second portion to obtain a second portion of the output signal. The AGC circuitry further sends a control signal to cause the FEM to change a gain state value of the LNA from a first value to a second value based on a comparison between a voltage of the output signal and a reference voltage.

Automatic gain control loop (AGC) for wireless local area network (WLAN) communications

Devices, systems, and methods are provided for enhanced near-field communications for wireless devices. A processor of a first device may send a first Bluetooth communication at a first signal strength. The processor may receive a first indication of activity associated with a near field communication (NFC) device of the first device, wherein the processor and the NFC device are collocated on the first device. The processor may determine a second signal strength associated with a second Bluetooth communication, the second signal strength less than the first signal strength. The processor may receive a second indication that the activity associated with the NFC device has concluded. The processor may decrease a power supplied to the NFC device.

Enhanced near-field communications for wireless devices

Wireless mesh network (WMN) architectures of network hardware devices organized in a mesh topology is described. One device communicates, using a first radio, first data with a second device via a first wireless link between the device and the second device. The device communicates, using a second radio, second data with a third device via a second wireless link between the device and the third device. The device communicates, using a third radio, third data with a fourth device via a third wireless link between the device and the fourth device. The device communicates, using a fourth radio, fourth data with a server of a content delivery network (CDN) via a point-to-point wireless link between the device and the server. The device is an only ingress point for content files for a mesh network that includes at least the device, the second device, and the third device.

Network hardware devices organized in a wireless mesh network for content distribution to client device having no internet connectivity

Technologies directed to coordinated dynamic analog beamforming are described. One method includes receiving, by a digital controller of a first wireless device, a data packet, the data packet comprising a destination address of a second wireless device. The method further includes retrieving, from memory, beamformer configuration data associated with the destination address, the beamformer configuration data comprising a phase shifter angle value for a radiation pattern. The method sends, to a beamformer circuit, the phase shifter angle value, the beamformer circuit comprises a power splitter and a set of phase shifters (e.g., at least four). The method causes the set of phase shifters to steer the radiation pattern of electromagnetic energy, radiated by an antenna array of elements, at the phase shifter angle value and sends the data packet to the second wireless device via the antenna array.

Coordinated dynamic analog beamformer

Devices, systems, and methods are provided for improving antenna isolation for collocated antennae. A device may include a first radio associated with a first antenna to transmit and receive first wireless signals using a first wireless communication technique. The device may include associated with a second antenna to transmit and receive second wireless signals using a second wireless communication technique. The device may include a multi-antenna isolation structure having a first portion and a second portion separated from the first portion, the first portion and the second portion are able to prevent the first antenna from receiving a portion of current associated with the second antenna.

Collocated radios with improved antenna isolation

Technologies directed to cylindrical antenna structures. One metallic cylindrical antenna structure includes a first surface, a second surface, and a side wall with a first height. The cylindrical antenna structure can have a low profile with the first height being less than 20 millimeters (mm). The side wall includes first and second slots, the first being centered at a first point on the side wall at a second height and oriented longitudinally along an azimuthal direction of the cylindrical antenna structure and the second being centered at a second point on the side wall at the second height and oriented longitudinally along the azimuthal direction. A feed structure is located on the center axis and is physically separated from the first and second surfaces. The cylindrical antenna structure radiates electromagnetic energy in an omnidirectional radiation pattern, responsive to a radio frequency (RF) signal being applied to the feed structure.

The patch antenna includes dielectric material, a conductive patch, and a first antenna feed in a first position with respect to the conductive patch. In an embodiment, the second position is rotationally offset from the first position by 90 degrees around an axis through a center of the conductive patch. A second patch antenna is mounted to the substrate and is configured to transmit and receive radio frequency signals in the frequency range. The second patch antenna is closer to the first end of the substrate than the second end of the substrate. The substrate includes a ground isolation region between at least one of the first patch antenna and the second patch antenna and the video processor. A media connector is on the substrate and electrically connected to the video processor.

Technologies for wireless network devices with surface-link antenna systems mounted on exterior surfaces of buildings are described. One wireless network device includes a housing with a circuit board and a first antenna port. A processor, a first antenna, a first wireless local area network (WLAN) radio, and a second WLAN radio are disposed on the circuit board. The first WLAN radio communicates with a radio of a client device using the first antenna over a first line-of-sight (LOS) or non-LOS wireless link (e.g., 2.4 GHz) inside the building. The second WLAN radio communicates with a radio of a second wireless network device using the second antenna over a second LOS wireless link (e.g., 5 GHz) that is external to the building. The first antenna is located inside the building and the second antenna is located along an exterior surface of the building.

Technologies directed to cable-loss compensation are described. An apparatus includes a triplexer, a front-end module (FEM) circuit, and a control circuit. The triplexer is coupled to a radio frequency (RF) cable. The triplexer receives a first RF signal and a DC power signal from a device via the RF cable and sends a detection signal being indicative of a transmit power level of the first RF signal to the device via the RF cable. The transmit power level includes an insertion loss of the RF cable. The FEM circuit is coupled to the triplexer and includes a power amplifier (PA). The control circuit is coupled to the triplexer and measures the transmit power level of the first RF signal and converts the first RF signal into the detection signal. The control circuit sends the detection signal back to the device via the RF cable and enables the PA.

A second PCB is disposed within the elongated housing. An application processor receives, from first RF circuitry, a first radio frequency performance indicator (RFPI) value for signals received over the omnidirectional antenna, a second RFPI value for signals received over the first directional antenna, and, from the second RF circuitry, a third RPI value for signals received over the second directional antenna. The application processor determines a best RFPI value, selects an antenna corresponding to the best RFPI value, and selects a radio corresponding to the selected antenna.
