Various embodiments disclosed relate to curable calcium phosphate compositions for use with porous structures and methods of using the same. In various embodiments, the present invention provides a curable calcium phosphate composition or a cured product thereof, with the curable calcium phosphate composition including calcium phosphate and a perfusion modifier. In various embodiments, the present invention provides an apparatus comprising a porous structure at least partially in contact with the curable calcium phosphate composition or a cured product thereof. The porous structure can include a porous substrate including a plurality of ligaments that define pores of the porous substrate, and a biocompatible metal coating on the plurality of ligaments of the porous substrate.

Curable calcium phosphate compositions for use with porous structures and methods of using the same

Various different porous screws and pegs are disclosed herein, as are methods of manufacturing such porous pegs or screws. The porous screws and pegs, in certain examples, are formed through additive manufacturing and have improved porosity for bone ingrowth. In certain cases, additive manufacturing or another manufacturing technique can be used to cover only part or all of the threads of the screws or pegs disclosed herein with a porous material. Such screws or pegs can have porosity but also threads that are capable of effectively digging into bone.

Porous fixation devices and methods

An acetabular cup assembly includes a shell and a liner. The shell has an inner surface, an outer surface, a face positioned at an upper end of the shell, and an apex positioned at a lower end of the inner surface. The inner surface includes a tapered inner wall and a plurality of inwardly-facing recesses provided along the inner surface adjacent the face. The plurality of inwardly-facing recesses include a main portion and an asymmetrically-extending portion. Each of the asymmetrically-extending portions extend circumferentially in one direction resulting in the recesses having an asymmetric shape. The segmented portion of the tapered inner wall has a wide portion between the asymmetrically-extending portion and the face and a narrower portion between the asymmetrically-extending portion and the adjacent inwardly-facing recess. The liner is adapted to fit within the shell and engage the inner surface of the shell establishing an interference fit.

Acetabular cup assembly

An orthopedic device holder and related system and method are disclosed. The orthopedic device holder can include a body member, a cannulated plunger, and a resilient member. The body member can include a longitudinal main body and an extension portion. The cannulated plunger can be slidably mounted inside the body member and movable between a first position and a second position. The plunger can be configured such that in the second position, a plunger distal end extends past a main body distal end, and in the first position, the plunger distal end assumes a more proximal position. The resilient member can be positioned adjacent a plunger proximal end and can be configured to urge the plunger towards the second position. The extension portion of the body member can project distally from the main body distal end and can include a locking member, which can be configured to fit into a mating recess of an orthopedic device.
