Ingestible devices can directly deliver therapeutic agents to desired tissue(s) of the GI tract of a subject, such as the submucosa, the mucosa, and/or the mucus layer of the GI tract, and methods of using the same. The ingestible devices can deliver therapeutic agents in a safe, effective, and reliable manner. The disclosure also provides pharmaceutical compositions for use in methods of treating a disease or condition in a subject in need thereof.

Ingestible device for delivery of therapeutic agent to the gastrointestinal tract

Ingestible devices capable of delivering a dispensable substance, such as, for example, a therapeutic agent, as well as related components, systems and methods, are disclosed. A removably attachable storage reservoir configured to be used with an ingestible device and capable of storing dispensable substance, such as, for example, a therapeutic agent, as well as related components, systems and methods, are also disclosed.

Ingestible device for delivery of a dispensable substance

A method of treating a disease or condition in a subject in need thereof is disclosed. The method comprising: trans-epithelially administering a dispensable substance to the gastrointestinal (GI) tract of the subject by orally administering an ingestible device comprising the dispensable substance to the subject. The ingestible device is configured for trans-epithelial delivery of the dispensable substance to the GI tract of the subject and the dispensable substance comprises a pharmaceutical formulation comprising a therapeutically effective amount of a glucagon receptor agonist or a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist. The ingestible device releases the dispensable substance as at least one jet to a desired location of the GI tract of the subject.

An ingestible device, includes a storage reservoir configured to store a dispensable substance and a pressurized chamber configured so that, when a restraining force is removed from the pressurized chamber, the dispensable substance exits the ingestible device via openings in the ingestible device.
