A bearing assembly includes a roller bearing having a bore, and a pin positioned within the bore. The pin has a composite outer profile defined by a first substantially circular segment with a first axis of rotation, and a second substantially circular segment with a second axis of rotation of a different radius. The second axis of rotation is offset from the first axis of rotation.

An engine cylinder piston connecting rod subassembly, for use in an engine, includes a piston (), a piston pin () and a connecting rod (). The connecting rod has a piston end portion with a piston pin bore (). The piston pin is inserted through the piston pin bore and oppositely disposed portions of the piston, for securing the piston and the connecting rod together. Opposite ends of the piston pin bore are machined or profiled with relief portions (), to allow for piston pin deflection and thereby maximize the load carrying capacity, by providing a greater area of contact. The relief portions can be a curved surface () machined as part of the bore, or a plurality of end-to-end angled frustoconical surfaces (). The relief portions are shaped to correspond to the shape of the corresponding piston pin when under load during normal engine operation.

An anti-backlash gear assembly useful to reduce backlash in the gear train is also disclosed. One disclosed gear assembly has at least two gear wheels with the circular thickness of the teeth of one gear wheel being less than the circular thickness of the other gear wheel. A gear assembly is also disclosed that has a bias torque of at least about 100 foot-pounds. A device carried on an anti-lash gear assembly to generally align teeth of the assembly for installation is also provided.
