A client application sends an application programming interface call to an interface of a content management system. The call specifies one or more content item search criteria. Sending the call causes the content management system to perform a lookup in a content item index to identify at least one content item that satisfies the one or more content item search criteria. Based on sending the call, the client application receives from the content management system a suggestion to attach the at least one content item to a text being displayed by at the computing system.

Suggesting content items to be accessed by a user

The disclosed embodiments provide a system that facilitates searching an online content management system for content items associated with a user. During operation, the system receives a call from a client application at a search interface in the online content management system, wherein the client application is operating on behalf of the user. In response to the call, the system performs a lookup in a per-user index within the online content management system, wherein the per-user index facilitates looking up information about content items associated with the user in the online content management system. The system then returns the information obtained during the lookup to the client application. The client application can then use the retrieved information to facilitate an interaction between the client application and the user.

Shareable links can be created to share content items and information pertaining to activity on those shareable links can be monitored and stored in an online content management service. Based on this activity information, predetermined actions can be executed. These actions can include sending notifications regarding link activity, disabling shareable links, and/or updating sharing limitations related to the shareable links. Using the activity information, popular shared content items can be identified and recommendations for sharing unshared content items can be provided to the user. Additionally, advertisements can be tailored to the relative popularity of the shared content items.

Systems and methods for monitoring and applying data related to shareable links associated with content items stored in an online content management service

In one aspect, based on determining that a first view metric associated with a shareable link to a content item is above a first activity threshold associated with the shareable link, a first action is taken on the shareable link. The first action can be allowing or denying requested access to the content item via the shareable link or sending a notification to a user that requested creation of the shareable link regarding user activity on the shareable link. Further, based on determining that a second view metric associated with the shareable link is above a second activity threshold associated with the shareable link, a second action is taken on the shareable link. The second action can be like the first action.

Recommendations for shareable links to content items stored in an online content management service. In one aspect, a recommendation is sent to a first user to create and share a shareable link to a content item with a second user. The content item to share via a shareable link is identified as one that is currently not shared by the first user and that has one or more characteristics in common with a 'popular' content item as determined by monitoring the popular content item for a threshold number of requests to access the popular content item via a corresponding shareable link to the popular content item.

Recommendations for shareable links to content items stored in an online content management service

A lattice-matched solar cell having a dilute nitride-based sub-cell has exponential doping to thereby control current-carrying capacity of the solar cell. Specifically a solar cell with at least one dilute nitride sub-cell that has a variably doped base or emitter is disclosed. In one embodiment, a lattice matched multi junction solar cell has an upper sub-cell, a middle sub-cell and a lower dilute nitride sub-cell, the lower dilute nitride sub-cell having doping in the base and/or the emitter that is at least partially exponentially doped so as to improve its solar cell performance characteristics. In construction, the dilute nitride sub-cell may have the lowest bandgap and be lattice matched to a substrate, the middle cell typically has a higher bandgap than the dilute nitride sub-cell while it is lattice matched to the dilute nitride sub-cell.

A user viewing an online content item using an online content client application can, from within that application, launch an operating application to operate on the content item. The operating application can interact with the online content management provider to obtain a current copy of the content item and to save a modified content item back to the online content management service, e.g., if the user instructs the operating application to save the item. Interactions between the client application, the operating application and the online content management service can occur without requiring the user to manually initiate upload or download of any content items. Operations on an online content item can also be initiated from within an operating application.

Seamless editing and saving of online content items using applications

The disclosed technology can enable files to be stored with a networked environment. The files can be associated with information (e.g., properties) such as a file name, a file type, a date/time at which a respective file was last accessed, a number of times a respective file was accessed, data representing the contents of a respective file, and other information. Based at least in part on analyzing the information, the disclosed technology can select or identify a file and/or a file property (e.g., a file type) that the disclosed technology predicts to be most relevant to the user. The disclosed technology can then recommend applications based at least in part on the selected or identified file and/or file property (e.g., file type).

Systems and methods for monitoring and applying statistical data related to shareable links associated with content items stored in an online content management service

Attachments received at an email account are processed according to a processing rule that is selected using, for example, a sender's email address, the sender's domain, or metadata in the email. A feature triggers the processing rule that then removes the attachment from the received email and stores the attachment in a rule-indicated directory. Processing rules can be defined by the email sender or by the email recipient. Changes to the attachment can be synchronized across multiple user devices and user accounts using a file sharing application.

The disclosed embodiments relate a messaging system, such as an email system, a text-messaging system or an instant-messaging system, that enables a user to save a message attachment to an online content management system (for example, to their Dropbox&#x2122;). The system receives a call from a messaging system associated with the user to save a message attachment to the online content management system, wherein the call includes a link to the message attachment. In response to the call, the system commences downloading the message attachment to the online content management system. While the message attachment is downloading, the system provides a selection interface to enable the user to select a destination for the message attachment within the online content management system. After the user selects the destination and after the message attachment finishes downloading, the system saves the message attachment to the selected destination in the online content management system.
