Various embodiments herein provide techniques for positioning measurements in a wireless cellular network without a measurement gap. The measurements may be performed in one or more positioning frequency layers (PFLs). Additionally, techniques for activation and/or deactivation of a measurement gap are provided. Other embodiments may be described and claimed.

User equipment behavior and requirements for positioning measurement without gap

An apparatus and system of establishing receive timing difference (RTD) for high subcarrier spacing (SCS) are described. The RTD is dependent on whether carrier aggregation (CA) or dual connectivity (DC) is used. For CA, RTD reflects the entire time difference between carriers caused by a Timing Alignment Error (TAE) and propagation delay difference between slots aligned at transmission. For DC, RTD is between the closest slot boundaries and reflects only slot boundary misalignment without considering the slot index.

Receive timing difference for inter-band asynchronous NR-DC operation

This disclosure describes systems, methods, and devices related to scheduled multi-user multiple-input multiple-output (MU-MIMO) acknowledgement. A device may determine a block acknowledgment schedule associated with one or more destination devices. The device may cause to send a multi-user multiple-input multiple-output (MU-MIMO) frame including the block acknowledgment schedule. The device may identify one or more acknowledgment frames received from at least one of the one or more destination devices based on the block acknowledgment schedule.

Signaling for scheduled multi-user multiple-input multiple-output acknowledgement

Apparatus, system and method of asymmetric beamforming training

Dynamic transmission of non-zero power channel state information resource signals and interference measurement resources is described. Such dynamic transmission reduces or eliminates a need to buffer and store channel and interference measurements The described approach also reduces the overhead due to transmission of those resources and enables flexible time-domain channel state information requests.

Technology for a user equipment (UE) operable to adjust a receiver timing is disclosed. The UE can decode a plurality of channel-state information reference signals (CSI-RSs) received from a plurality of cooperating nodes, wherein the plurality of cooperating nodes are included in a coordination set of a Coordinated MultiPoint (CoMP) system. The UE can generate a plurality of received RS timings from the plurality of CSI-RSs, wherein the received RS timings represent timings from the plurality of cooperating nodes. The UE can determine a composite received RS timing from the plurality of received RS timings. The UE can adjust the receiver timing based on the composite received RS timing.

Timing synchronization for downlink (DL) transmissions in coordinated multipoint (CoMP) systems

This disclosure describes systems, methods, and devices related to using enhanced acknowledgment and power save. A device may determine a multi-user (MU) multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) frame associated with a MU-MIMO group. The device may determine a first portion of the MU-MIMO frame associated with the first station device of the MU-MIMO group, wherein the first portion comprises a first indication of a first time offset associated with the first station device. The device may determine a second portion of the MU-MIMO frame associated with the second station device of the MU-MIMO group, wherein the second portion comprises a second indication of a second time offset associated with the second station device. The device may cause to send the MU-MIMO frame to the MU-MIMO group. The device may identify a first acknowledgment from the first station device based on the first time offset.

Methods, systems, and storage media for providing multi-cell, multi-point single user (SU) multiple input and multiple output (MIMO) operations are described. In embodiments, an apparatus may receive and process a first set of one or more independent data streams received in a downlink channel from a first transmission point. The apparatus may receive and process a second set of one or more independent data streams received in a downlink channel from a second transmission point. The apparatus may process control information received from the first transmission point or the second transmission point. The control information may include an indication of a quasi co-location assumption to be used for estimating channel characteristics for reception of the first set of one or more independent data streams or the second set of one or more independent data streams. Methods, apparatuses, and systems for multi-point, multi-cell single-user based multiple input and multiple output transmissions

User equipment and base station configured for aperiodic CSI references signals(CSI-RS) with aperiodic report triggering

User Equipment (UE) and base station (eNB) apparatus and methodology for radio resource management reporting. The UE receives reference signals from at least one antenna port of an eNB via a plurality of receive antennas of the UE. The UE performs received signal measurement of at least a portion of the reference signals for a plurality of eNB antenna port and UE receive antenna combinational groupings to produce enhanced received signal quality (eRSQ) measurements that represent spatial characteristics of the reference signaling as received by the UE. The UE may send a report to the eNB based on the eRSQ measurements, with the report being indicative of spatial multiplexing layer availability of the UE to be served by the eNB.
