Systems, methods, and computer readable media for an augmented reality (AR) shared screen space. Examples relate to a host augmented realty (AR) device sharing a screen and a relative location of the AR device to the screen with guest AR devices where the guest AR devices share a relative location of the guest AR devices to a copy of the screen displayed on the display of the guest AR devices and where the users of the AR devices may see each other's location with the use of avatars around the shared screen and add augmentations to the shared screen. The yaw, roll, and pitch of the head of the avatars tracks the movement of the head of the user of the AR wearable device.

Systems and methods are provided for using an external controller with an AR device. The system establishes, by one or more processors of the AR device, a communication with an external client device. The system overlays, by the AR device, a first AR object on a real-world environment being viewed using the AR device. The system receives interaction data from the external client device representing one or more inputs received by the external client device and, in response, modifies the first AR object by the AR device.

The subject technology receives, by one or more hardware processors implementing a local wireless network, a request from a client device to mirror media content displayed on a screen of the client device on a wearable device. In response to the request, the subject technology causes a display of the media content in a mirroring lens of the wearable device. While the media content is being displayed in the mirroring lens of the wearable device, the subject technology tracks hand gestures of a user wearing the wearable device and viewing the media content displayed in the mirroring lens of the wearable device. The subject technology processes navigational or manipulation data based on the tracked hand gestures and sends a navigation or manipulation instruction to the client device or a mirroring lens processor of the wearable device based on the tracked hand gestures.

The eyewear device includes an image capture system, a display system, and a position detection system. The image capture system and position detection system identify feature points within a point cloud that represents captured images of an environment. The display system presents image overlays to a user including enhancement graphics positioned at the feature points within the environment.

The options include selecting one or more objects in the landscape video to track and tracking based on a flight plan used to capture the video. The automatic tracking uses a hierarchy of a person for tracking where a face is used if the person is close, an upper body is used if the person is farther away, and a whole body is used if the person is even farther away. A hierarchy of a person includes indications of which parts of the hierarchy to exclude first.

Example systems, devices, media, and methods are described for presenting an interactive game in augmented reality on the display of a smart eyewear device. A hand tracking utility detects and tracks the location of hand gestures in real time, based on high-definition video data. The detected hand gestures are compared to a library of hand gestures and landmarks. Examples include synchronized, multi-player games in which each device detects and shares hand gestures with other devices for evaluation and scoring. A single-player example includes gesture-shaped icons presented on a virtual scroll that appears to move toward an apparent collision with corresponding key images, awarding points if the player's hand is located near the apparent collision and the detected hand shape matches the moving icon.

Eyewear configured to identify movements of a remote physical object to provide a 3D painting interactive augmented reality experience. In an example, the eyewear uses the identified movements of the remote physical object as a virtual brush to create a three-dimensional (3D) virtual object on an eyewear display. Eyewear providing an interactive augmented reality experience to allow a user of an eyewear device to display a 3D overlay image on a viewed person. The user can select the overlay image from a list of images, such as costumes, stored in memory or generated by the user. The images can be sorted in memory based on common attributes. Registration points of the person are continuously aligned with registration points of the overlay as the person moves such that the user appears to be wearing the 3D costume during movement. By aligning the registration points, the costume adapts to different body types and heights. The coloring of the costume can change based on the environment, such as the lighting, or to contrast with colors viewed in a viewfinder.

A head-wearable apparatus determines an imaginary reference plane intersecting a head of a user viewing augmented content in a viewing pane having vertical and lateral dimensions in a display of the head-wearable apparatus. The imaginary reference plane coincides with a first viewing direction of the head of the user. The apparatus detects a rotational movement of the head of the user in a vertical direction while viewing the augmented content. In response to the detected rotational movement, the apparatus determines a second viewing direction of the head of the user when viewing the augmented content in the second viewing direction and determines a reference angle between the imaginary reference plane and the second viewing direction. Based on the reference angle, the apparatus assign one of a billboard display mode and a headlock display mode (or combination) to the augmented content presented in the display.

Orientation of augmented content in interaction systems

Systems, methods, and computer readable media for remote annotations, drawings, and navigation instructions sent to an augmented reality (AR) wearable device from a computing device are disclosed. The AR wearable device captures images and sends them to the remote computing device to provide a real-time view of what the user of the AR wearable device sees. A user of the remote computing device can add navigation instructions and can select an image to annotate or draw on. The AR wearable device provides 3-dimensional (3D) coordinate information within a 3D world of the AR wearable device for the selected image. The user of the remote computing device then annotates or draws on the selected image. The remote computing device determines 3D coordinates for the annotations and drawings within the 3D world of the AR wearable device. The annotations and drawings are sent to the AR wearable device with associated 3D coordinates.

A method for aligning coordinate systems of user devices in an augmented reality system using somatic points of a user's hand as alignment markers. Images captured from multiple user devices are used to align the reference coordinate systems of the user devices to a common reference coordinate system. In some examples, user devices capture images of a hand of a user and use object recognition to identify somatic points as alignment markers. The somatic points of a user device are translated to a common reference coordinate system determined by another user device.

Shared augmented reality eyewear device with hand tracking alignment

Systems, devices, media, and methods are presented for an immersive augmented reality (AR) experience using an eyewear device. A portable eyewear device includes a processor, a memory, and a display projected onto at least one lens assembly. The memory has programming stored therein that, when executed by the processor, captures information depicting an environment surrounding the device and identifies a match between objects in that information and predetermined objects in previously obtained information for the same environment. When the position of the eyewear device reaches a preselected location with respect to the matched objects, a physical output is provided to produce the immersive experience. The physical output changes as the position of the eyewear device moves to maintain the immersive experience.
