According to various, but not necessarily all examples of the disclosure, there may be provided an apparatus and method wherein the apparatus comprises: a substrate configured to support a bendable display wherein the substrate comprises at least one bendable portion configured to enable the substrate to be moved between an open configuration and a closed configuration; and wherein the at least one bendable portion comprises a plurality of rod members and the rod members comprise interlocking portions wherein the interlocking portions comprise a projection configured to fit into a corresponding recess on an adjacent rod member so as to restrict relative movement of the rod members when the substrate is in the closed configuration.

The supporting layer of the flexible display stack comprises one or more fastening areas; the body comprises one or more fastening components; and one or more fastening components of the body are configured to be operable in a movable connection with one or more fastening areas of the flexible display stack.

An apparatus and method wherein the apparatus comprises: a substrate wherein the substrate is configured to support a flexible display and the substrate comprises at least one bendable portion configured to enable the substrate to be moved between an open configuration and a closed configuration and wherein the at least one bendable portion comprises a plurality of rigid members; and a bendable cover portion configured to cover at least the bendable portion of the substrate wherein the bendable cover portion comprises a plurality of foldable portions configured to be folded between the rigid members such that the foldable portions enable the bendable cover portion to be moved between an open configuration and a closed configuration.

A bendable device is provided. The device comprises: a display stack which comprises a window layer and at least one active layer, and a body which comprises an extendable bending region. The active layers are fixed to the window layer at the bottom side of the window layer. Edges of the window layer extend outwards in relation to the at least one active layer at two or more sides of the display stack, and the window layer is rigidly fixed to the body at the edges which extend outwards at the bottom side of the window layer. A method for assembling a bendable device comprising a display is disclosed.

A device is disclosed comprising: a first portion; a second portion; a hinge element between the first portion and the second portion; a magnetic sensor disposed on the first portion configured to measure an ambient magnetic field; a non-extensible element configured between the first portion and the second portion, and fixed with respect to the second portion; a magnetic element configured on a free end of the non-extensible element so that a rotation of the first portion with respect to the second portion causes relative motion between the magnetic element and the magnetic sensor, thereby causing a change in a magnetic field between the magnetic element and the magnetic sensor; wherein an angle of fold between the two portions is calculated based on the change in the magnetic field as determined by the magnetic sensor.

In one example, an actuator mechanism comprising: one or more coils for establishing a magnetic field; a rotating permanent magnet, which has at least one extreme position depending on the magnetic field; and driving members, which are coupled to the permanent magnet and by means of which the members coupled to the actuator mechanism are driven. In another example, an actuator mechanism comprising: one or more wires, which are manufactured of a shape memory alloy that shrinks when heated; and driving members, which are coupled to said wire and by means of which the members connected to the actuator mechanism are driven.

The electronic device further comprises a slide module comprising a sledge part fixed on the first surface and a base part fixed on the second surface. A telephone apparatus includes a body part and a sleeve-like grip part mounted to the body part for longitudinal slidable movement between a retracted position and an extended position. Mechanically coupled to the body part and the grip part there is a spring for effecting the longitudinal slidable movement. A locking mechanism is provided for detachably locking the body part and the grip part into the retracted position. There is also a user-actuatable releasing actuator for releasing the locking mechanism. The releasing actuator is located within the grip part.
