Embodiments of the present invention provide a method, system and computer program product for expression evaluation of content instances of multiple different data models. In an embodiment of the invention, a method for expression evaluation of content instances over multiple different data models comprises loading a schema for a content instance in memory of a computer and evaluating an expression against the content instance. In response to a failure during the evaluation of the expression against the content instance to resolve a reference to an element specified by the expression, an alias reference for the element can be identified in the schema and the evaluation can be completed using the alias reference in lieu of the specified reference.

Expression evaluation over multiple data models

The present invention provides a visual debugger for dynamic XLS transformations. A method for real time debugging of mixed Java and Extensible Stylesheet Language Transform (XSLT) code comprises sending debug events from Java and XSLT debug sub-adapters to a debug super adapter, filtering the debug events received from the Java and XSLT debug sub-adapters, generating debug events representing a consolidated view of the received debug events, and sending the debug events to a debug user interface (UI).

Visual debugger for dynamic XSL transformations

Mapping of a first native data type instance to a second native data type instance is performed in three stages: the first native data type instance is converted into a first programming language and platform independent representation conforming to a first schema capable of defining base and derived data types; the first programming language and platform independent representation is transformed into a second programming language and platform independent representation conforming to a second schema capable of defining base and derived data types; and the second programming language and platform independent representation is converted into the second native data type instance. The programming language and platform independent representations may be event-based extensible Markup Language (XML) representations implemented according to the Simple API for XML (SAX). The transformation may be governed by an extensible Stylesheet Language Transform (XSLT) stylesheet.

Mapping between native data type instances

A method and device for generating mapping source code to establish mapping connections between enterprise system nested array object fields and legacy system nested array object fields is disclosed. For each desired mapping connection in a received list of desired connections, a determination of an enterprise system field and legacy system field to be mapped, as well as a connection nesting level, is made. The identity of the system arrays containing the enterprise and legacy system fields is also determined. A logical tree is created which includes a root node, one leaf node for each desired connection, and, for each leaf node, N intermediate nodes interconnecting the leaf node with the root node, where N is equivalent to the determined nesting level of the connection associated with that leaf node, and where each of the N intermediate nodes that is successively further from the root node is associated with a successively more deeply nested target system array. The tree is then traversed depth-first to generate the desired mapping source code.
