System for mapping a magnetic-field including a magnetic-field-transmitter, a freestanding magnetic-field-detector operative to freely move within a volume of interest and acquire measurements of the flux of the magnetic-field at a plurality of poses, a pose-information-acquisition-module for measuring information related to the pose of the magnetic-field-detector and a processor, coupled with the magnetic-field-detector and with said pose-information-acquisition-module and determines pose-related-information respective of each of at least a portion of the magnetic-flux-measurements, according to said information related to the pose of said magnetic-field-detector, the processor further estimating the entire set of parameters of a magnetic-field-model-template according to the magnetic-flux-measurements and the respective pose-related-information the magnetic flux measurements, the processor incorporates the entire set of parameters into said magnetic field model template, thereby determining said magnetic field model, the entire set of parameters includes the coefficients, the order, the number and location of the centers of expansion of the model.

System and a method for mapping a magnetic field

A system for mapping a magnetic-field in a volume-of-interest comprising a magnetic-field transmitter, generating a magnetic-field in the volume-of-interest, a freestanding magnetic-field detector operative to freely move within the volume-of-interest, a pose-information-acquisition-module and a processor. The detector acquires measurements of flux of the magnetic-field at a plurality of poses. The pose-information-acquisition-module measures information related to the pose of the detector. The processor determines pose-related-information respective of at least a portion of the measurements according to the information related to the pose of the detector. The processor estimates the entire set of parameters of a magnetic-field model template according to the magnetic-field flux measurement and the respective poses-related-information thereof. The processor incorporates the entire set of parameters into the magnetic-field model template, thereby determining the magnetic-field model. The entire set of parameters includes the coefficients, the order the number and location of the centers of expansion of the magnetic-field model.

A method of visually guiding a pilot flying an aircraft using one or more conformal symbols whose position is dynamically updated throughout the guidance is provided herein. The method includes the following stages: determining a desired flight route of an aircraft, based on a user-selected maneuver; presenting to a pilot, on a display, at least one 3D visual symbol that is: (i) earth-space stabilized, and (ii) positioned along a future location along the desired route; computing an updated desired route based on repeatedly updated aircraft flight data that include at least one of: location, speed, and spatial angle, of the aircraft; and repeating the presenting of the at least one 3D visual symbol with its updated location along the updated desired route.

System for guiding an aircraft to a reference point in low visibility conditions

A medical Wide-Field-Of-View optical-tracking-system for determining the position and orientation of a target-object in a reference coordinate system. The system includes at least three light-emitters, at least one optical-detector and a processor. The processor is coupled with each optical-detector. One optical-detector is a Wide-Field-Of-View optical detector, which acquires an image of the light-emitters within the field-of-view thereof. Each Wide-Field-Of-View optical-detector includes an optical-sensor and two optical-receptors. The processor determines the position and orientation of the target-object in the reference coordinate system according to representations of the light-emitters. Each light-emitter is within the field-of-view of an optical-detector. Each optical-detector and each light-emitter is attached to one of the target-object and a reference-location. The target-object and the reference-location are respective elements in a tuple including two elements from a group consisting of a display, a patient-body-location, a-medical-tool, physician-body-location, and a fixed-position.

Medical wide field of view optical tracking system

Multi view multi spectral detection and tracking system comprising at lease one imager, at least one of the at least one imager being a multi spectral imager, the at least one imager acquiring at least two detection sequences, and at least two tracking sequences, each sequence including at least one image, each acquired image being associated with respective image attributes, an object detector, coupled with the at least one imager, detecting objects of interest in the scene, according to the detection sequence of images and the respective image attributes, an object tracker coupled with the object detector, the object tracker tracking the objects of interest in the scene and determining dynamic spatial characteristics and dynamic spectral characteristics for each object of interest according to the tracking sequences of images and the respective image attributes and an object classifier, coupled with the object tracker, classifying the objects of interest according to the dynamic spatial characteristics and the dynamic spectral characteristics.

Method and system for detection and tracking employing multi-view multi-spectral imaging

A system for mapping a magnetic field in a volume of interest, the system includes a magnetic field transmitter, generating a magnetic field in the volume of interest, at least one freestanding magnetic field detector, operative to freely move within the volume of interest, the at least one freestanding magnetic field detector acquiring measurements of the flux of the magnetic field at a plurality of poses, and a processor, coupled with the magnetic field detector, the processor re estimating parameters characterizing the magnetic field model according to deviations between the measurements of the flux of the magnetic field and according to predictions of the flux, the predictions being determined according to a stored magnetic field model, thereby, the processor estimating a new magnetic field model.

An optical tracking system for determining the pose of a moving object in a reference coordinate system includes light emitters, optical detectors, and a pose processor. The processor is coupled with an optical detector and also with a light emitter. The processor determines the object's pose according to detected light. An optical detector and a light emitter are situated at a fixed position in the reference coordinate system. Other ones of the optical detectors and light emitters are attached to the object. One optical detector is a WFOV detector comprising an optical sensor and optical receptors. The receptors are spaced apart and optically coupled with the optical sensor. The sensor senses light received from a light emitter. Each receptor projects a different angular section of a scene on the sensor. The pose processor associates the representation on the sensor, with a respective receptor which projected the light on the sensor.

Wide field of view optical tracking system

In an optical tracking system for determining the pose of a moving object in a reference coordinate system, the system including at least one light emitter, at least one optical detector for detecting the light emitted by the at least one light emitter and a pose processor, coupled with the at least one optical detector, and with the at least one light emitter, for determining the pose of the moving object according to the light detected by the at least one optical detector.

A night vision coloring system may color a scene by extracting the spectral signature of each area in a scene and matching the extracted signature with a predetermined database signature and associated color. The system may comprise a temporal or spatial filtering element that may typically allow the capturing of an image reflection through a plurality of spectral bands, thereby extracting the spectral signature of each area in the image. The color associated with the matched database signature may be used to color each area comprising the image.

Synthetic colour night vision system

System for determining a distortion model for an optically distorting medium, the system including an image sensor located at an image acquisition position behind the optically distorting medium, and an image processor coupled with the image sensor, the image sensor acquiring an obstructed image of an object located substantially at infinity, when the optically distorting medium is located between the image sensor and the object in a line of sight connecting the image sensor and the object, the image sensor acquiring an unobstructed image of the object, when the optically distorting medium is absent from the line of sight, the image processor receiving information respective of the obstructed image and the unobstructed image from the image sensor, the image processor identifying a plurality of features in the unobstructed image, and a respective feature in the obstructed image for each of the identified features in the unobstructed image, thereby determining pairs of associated features, the image processor determining a distortion parameter for each of the pairs of associated features, the image processor determining a reference distortion model for the optically distorting medium, respective of the image acquisition position, according to the distortion parameters.

Method and system for determining optical distortion in a transparent medium

A computer-aided design system in which a mechanical quantity of a structure can be determined from stored geometrical representation of the structure, the material properties thereof and the loads imposed thereon, comprising: generating data describing a structure as a mesh; generating by application of the finite element method to the mesh, the elements of a stiffness matrix, a loading vector, and a vector including an associated degree of freedom index for each row and column of the stiffness matrix, generating from the stiffness matrix and the loading vector elements of matrix A and a right hand-side vector f, where A and f are related through the relation Ax=f, the vector x representing a mechanical quantity at a plurality of points of the mesh; and a linear solver of the preconditioned conjugate gradient type for generating, for subsequent processing or display, the elements of the vector x from A and f using a preconditioning matrix, the system being characterised in that the linear solver comprises generating a principal submatrix from the stiffness matrix by setting to zero those elements therein in positions such that the degree of freedom index associated with their row is not equal to the degree of freedom index associated with their column and generating the preconditioning matrix from the principal submatrix.

Computer aided design system

In a computer aided design system, a stored geometrical representation of a structure, the material properties thereof, and the loads imposed thereon are converted into a visualization of a mechanical quantity of the structure. A mesh is generated that describes the structure. By application of the finite element method to the mesh, the elements of a stiffness matrix, a loading vector and a vector including an associated degree of freedom index for each row and column of the stiffness matrix is generated. From the stiffness matrix and the loading vector, a matrix A and a right-hand side vector f are generated. A and f are related through the equation Ax=f, wherein the vector x represents the mechanical quantity at points of the mesh. A linear solver of the preconditioned conjugate gradient-type generates the elements of the vector x from A and f using a preconditioning matrix K. The linear solver generates a principal submatrix from the stiffness matrix by setting to zero those elements therein and positioned such that the degree of freedom index associated with their row is not equal to the degree of freedom index associated with their column. The linear solver also generates the preconditioning matrix K from the principal submatrix. The mechanical quantity of the structure is visualized on the computer aided design system as a function of the vector x.
