A compressor is operable to compress refrigerant at a variable operation frequency. According to a method of controlling the compressor, the compressor starts operating, and just after that, the compressor operates at a first frequency for a first period of time. Just after that, the compressor operates at a second frequency lower than the first frequency for a second period of time longer than the first period, and after that, the compressor operates at an ordinary operation. This method does not cause the compressor to generate an abnormal noise or obstruction to lubrication.

Method of controlling compressor and controller

A hermetic electric compressor including sealed container and coil spring provided for elastically supporting electric compression element housed in sealed container. A consideration has been made to avoid the coincidence in the resonance frequency between coil spring mounted with electric compression element and mechanical vibration caused by electric compression element, or a cavity formed in space. By so doing, creation of a resonation with coil spring is suppressed, and noises and vibrations with the hermetic electric compressors are reduced.

Hermetic electric compressor and refrigeration unit including non-resonating support structure for the compressor

The present invention provides an hermetic electric compressor capable of stably supplying oil to a compression chamber with a low noise level. The hermetic electric compressor has a closed vessel, an electric element, a compressing element that is disposed over the electric element and driven by the electric element, and an oil reservoir. The hermetic electric compressor also has an oil supply mechanism for supplying the oil from the oil reservoir to the compressing element in the closed vessel, and a suction muffler that communicates with a refrigerant suction part for sucking a refrigerant into the compressing element and is formed of a box body having a predetermined spatial volume. The suction muffler is positioned below the position where the oil is supplied into the closed vessel, and the box body has at least one oil suction port used for sucking a predetermined amount of oil.

A hermetic compressor is equipped with a suction muffler including: a muffling space having two rooms; a communication space to communicate these two rooms with each other; a first communication passage to communicate a movable valve with the muffling space and extending to an opening into the muffling space; and a second communication passage to communicate an enclosed container with the muffling space and extending to an opening into the muffling space. The openings into the muffling space from the first and the second communication passages are disposed in one of the two rooms, and the other room of the two rooms forms a resonance muffler whose resonance frequency matches a cavity resonance frequency of the enclosed container. The configuration can provide the hermetic compressor with a reduced noise emission and a high compression efficiency.

Reciprocating compressor

An electrically-operated sealed compressor includes a cylinder, a cylinder head mounted on the cylinder and having a suction chamber and first and second discharge chambers, a piston accommodated in the cylinder, and a valve mechanism. The valve mechanism includes a suction muffler and a valve plate having at least one suction port, first and second discharge ports, and first and second pass holes. The first discharge port and the first pass hole communicate with the first discharge chamber, while the second discharge port and the second pass hole communicate with the second discharge chamber. The valve mechanism also includes first and second discharge valves mounted on the valve plate and accommodated in the first and second discharge chambers, respectively, a suction reed having a reed valve for selectively opening and closing the suction port, a discharge gasket for sealing the valve plate and the cylinder head, and a discharge muffler. The first and second discharge chambers are separated from each other by the discharge gasket to form respective independent spaces, while the first and second pass holes communicate with the discharge muffler.
