An object of the present invention is to provide a printing control method and a printing controller which are capable of performing high-quality printing in a short period of time, and which are capable of reducing human error. To achieve this end, the printing control method is used to control a printing system, which is equipped with a server to store printing data which contains platemaking data and related information, a printing machine equipped with a plurality of printing presses, a terminal unit for acquiring the printing image data and outputting command information to the printing machine, detectors for detecting a state of a printed page, and controllers for controlling the printing presses based on the printing data and detection information. In a pre-printing step, the operating conditions of the printing machine are loaded from the server, a supply of ink is preset based on the printing data, one of a plurality of sets of data for selection is selected as printing data, platemaking data is displayed on a display unit, and the state of arrival of the platemaking plate data to the terminal unit and the data that arrived are confirmed. In a printing step, feedback control employing the detection information is performed based on the data sent from the terminal unit.

Printing control method and printing system

In a picture color tone control method and apparatus for a printing press, in order to make it possible to use an IRGB densitometer to perform color tone control even when printing is performed with a density which exceeds an estimated maximum color space, a target color mixture halftone density for each ink supplying unit width when a printing picture is divided with an ink supplying unit width of ink supplying apparatusis set, and an actual color mixture halftone density for each ink supplying unit width of an actually printed sheet obtained by printing is measured using an IRGB densitometer. The color mixture halftone densities are individually converted into tone values. Thereupon, for the conversion into actual tone values, the publicly known Neugebauer expression wherein the Yule-Nielsen coefficient n is set to such a value that the tone values and the color mixture halftone density value have a substantially linear relationship to each other is used. Further, the tone values are converted into a monochromatic halftone density, and a solid density difference corresponding to the difference between the target monochromatic halftone density and an actual monochromatic halftone density is determined using the Yule-Nielsen expression or the like. Then, the ink supplying amount is adjusted for each ink supplying unit width in response to the solid density difference.

Picture color tone controlling method and apparatus

The invention relates to picture color tone control for a printing press. A target color mixture halftone density for each ink supplying unit width when a printing picture is divided with an ink supplying unit width of ink supplying apparatusis set, and an actual color mixture halftone density for each ink supplying unit width of an actually printed sheet obtained by printing is measured using an IRGB densitometer. The color mixture halftone densities are individually converted into tone values. A changing ratio for the converted target tone values is set suitably and is reflected on the target tone values and then converted into a monochromatic halftone density. Then, a solid density difference corresponding to a difference between the target monochromatic halftone density and an actual monochromatic halftone density is determined, and the ink supplying amount is adjusted for each ink supplying unit width in response to the solid density difference. The density of each ink can be changed freely to the target density set based on plate making data and so forth.

A picture color tone controlling method for a printing press is disclosed wherein color tone control can be performed using an IRGB densitometer which requires a lower cost than a spectrometer. A target mixed color halftone density for each ink supplying unit width when a printing picture is divided with an ink supplying unit width of an ink supplying apparatus () is set. Then, an actual mixed color halftone density for each ink supplying unit width of a regular printing sheet obtained by printing is measured using an IRGB densitometer (), and the ink supplying amount is adjusted for each ink supplying unit width so that the actual mixed color halftone density may approach the target mixed color halftone density.

Method and apparatus for controlling picture color tone of printing press

An on-plate water film sensor for printing machines uses a narrow-band light source, a photo modulator for chopping a light beam therefrom into p- and s-polarized beams, a collimator for making parallel the rays of the collimated beams with a given cross-sectional area for measurement, a wavelength plate for adjusting the wavefront of the parallel rays, a receiver for the light secularly reflected from a plate, and an arithmetic unit to figure out the thickness of a water film formed on the plate based on the intensities of the received beams. Water lining which usually has patterns of narrow width can be detected, and the measurement of a water film thickness can be done with high speed.
