An apparatus for controlling a throttle valve electronically in an internal combustion engine. A rotational rod is coupled to a gear lever and the mechanism for putting the throttle back, which is protected by a cover. A throttle sensor is coupled to the rotational rod, which is also covered by a cover. Since the mechanism for putting the throttle back is covered, it is easy to prevent the deterioration of the mechanical parts, the entry of the foreign matter, corrosion, and to improve reliability. Also, because the throttle sensor is installed to the end of the apparatus for controlling the throttle valve, it is easy to adjust/readjust or install/exchange the throttle sensor, improve miniaturization, reduce weight, and lower cost.

An apparatus for controlling a throttle valve electronically in an internal combustion engine comprises a throttle valve with a rotation axis disposed in an intake air passage of an internal combustion engine, and an actuator with two ends and a central body disposed in parallel with the rotation axis of the throttle valve and extending back part way along the length of the throttle valve, and a casing formed around the throttle valve and the actuator, but not covering the central body of the actuator to thereby allow a mold for the casing to be slidably removed in a direction at approximately a right angle to the rotation axis.

The actuator 2 is supported on a body 1A by fixing a base plate 7 to a flange 1B of the body 1A with a bolt 6, and an elastic member 9 is fixed at an outer surface of a cylindrical projection 2C which is positioned on one end 2B of the body of the actuator 2. A throttle valve device for use in an internal combustion engine comprises a valve shaft extending across an air induction passage of the engine. A valve plate is fixed to the valve shaft to rotate therewith in the air induction passage. An electric actuator is connected to one end of the valve shaft to rotate the valve shaft with the aid of electric power. A biasing cam structure is incorporated with the valve shaft to bias the valve place toward a predetermined intermediate open position. The biasing cam structure comprises a cam plate which is secured to the other end of the valve shaft to rotate therewith and has a generally V-shaped cam edge; a loading lever which has a base end pivotally connected to a fixed portion; a follower member which is connected to a leading end of the loading lever and slidably engaged with the V-shaped cam edge; and a biasing member which biases the loading lever in a direction to press the follower member against the V-shaped cam edge.

Throttle valve device of internal combustion engine

A device for returning a reciprocating mechanism to a predetermined intermediate position of reciprocating motion, comprises a reciprocating link movable in accordance with a predetermined reciprocating motion, a pair of positioning members provided at both sides of the predetermined intermediate position of reciprocating motion, a pair of movable blocks, and a single resilient member interconnecting the movable blocks. The positioning members is adapted to position the movable blocks by abutting the movable blocks against the respective positioning members via a biasing force created by the single resilient member. The movable blocks is adapted to return the reciprocating link to its predetermined intermediate position by abutment of the reciprocating link on both the movable blocks, for restricting a reciprocating motion of the reciprocating link via the biasing force created by the single resilient member. During the reciprocating motion, one of the movable blocks breaks contact with the associated positioning member and additionally the reciprocating link breaks contact with the other positioning member by pushing the associated one of the movable blocks in a direction of increasing the biasing force created by the single resilient member.
