A case lid assembly is formed by integrally fitting a brush holder formed of resin and a terminal holder formed of resin to opposite sides of a metal plate which supports a bearing. The brush holder supports a pair of brush bases. The terminal holder supports a PTC element and a pair of electrically conductive members. The electrically conductive members have receptacle terminals and brush base connection portions. Tip ends of the brush bases pass through the metal plate, and come into contact with the brush base connection portions of the electrically conductive members to thereby be electrically connected thereto. The PTC element is accommodated within a PTC element insertion portion of the brush holder which extends through the metal plate in a thrust direction.

In the case of a small-sized motor of the present invention, a printed board to which an electric circuit including an electric element is attached is mounted on a case cover. The printed board has a soldering part to be connected to a member attached to an interior of the case cover for being connected to an electric power source supplied from an outside and a soldering part to be connected to a projection in a notch provided on an opening part side of the metal case to body-earth the electric circuit. In the soldering part for the body-earthing, at the time of assembling the motor, after fitting the case cover to the metal case opening part, a pair of electrodes are brought into contact from an outside of the metal case near the soldering part, to weld the soldering part by a principle of the electric resistance welding. Consequently, it is possible to easily and surely body-earth the earth of the electric circuit to the metal case, and to reduce the number of the motor assembling steps so that the assembling can be performed with a good working property.

Small-sized motor and manufacturing method thereof

A miniature motor with a two-pole stator, and a rotor having three or more salient poles each having a core with flanges extending toward both sides thereof and a winding. The rotor is adapted to simulate a two-pole construction by cutting off at least the tip of a flange on either side on a part or all the salient rotor pole cores, thereby limiting the spontaneous-stop angular positions of the rotor to two. One insulating spacer is provided between a plurality of commutator segments of the commutator in such a positional relationship as to come in contact with one of the two brushes when the rotor is at a spontaneous-stop angular position. The motor is prevented from burning and restarting suddenly after a stop since the motor has a self-inactivating function by interrupting current supply at spontaneous-stop angular positions while maintaining motor torque by minimizing the angle of non-conduction to the rotor.

A miniature motor comprising a rotor having a plurality of magnetic poles extending axially, which is disposed radially on the outer circumferential surface of the rotor, and a stator having two coils wound on coil bobbins, which are disposed axially in a housing formed into a bottomed hollow cylindrical shape; an end plate being fitted to an open end of the housing, in which the housing is made of a ferromagnetic material, the magnetic poles are provided on a housing-side end face of the rotor so that an axial magnetic attraction force is exerted between the rotor end face and the housing.

A miniature motor is provided with a rotor having a plurality of magnetic poles extending axially, which are disposed radially on the outer circumferential surface thereof, and a stator having two coils wound on coil bobbins and disposed axially in a housing formed into a bottomed hollow cylindrical shape. An end plate is fitted to an open end of the housing, in which a current feeding connector is provided, and a printed circuit board having at board end prongs carrying bonding pieces for electrically connecting to the connectors is interposed between the coil bobbins. Coil ends are connected directly to the bonding pieces of the printed circuit board.

An ac motor comprises a dc micromotor with terminals passing through an insulating end bell to receive dc current from a rectifier module. The flat surface of the end bell contains fixing grooves and a hole. The rectifier module is fitted within the hole. Fixing bosses are also provided on the end surface of the end bell. An input terminal plate is provided with holes for engaging the four bosses. The input terminal plate is provided with cut grooves which delimit four input terminal portions. The input terminal plate also has a middle hole. The input terminal plate is pressed into engagement with the four bosses resulting in the input terminal plate separating into four input terminal pieces, which are bent into the fixing grooves and also bent into the hole to fixedly fit the input terminal pieces to the end bell. Terminals of the rectifier module are electrically and mechanically connected to be held by the input terminal pieces.
