A disposable film package of the type having a taking lens comprises a film casing; a film cartridge containing a high speed film therein in said film casing; a viewfinder; and a scene brightness indicating member disposed in the viewfinder. The indicating member becomes visible or invisible according to scene brightness conditions. When the indicating member becomes visible, the photographer is thus given warning that an improper exposure would result.

The camera according to the present invention includes a reference optical system and a telescopic optical system. After photographing the subject using the reference optical system, a close-up of the subject is photographed using the telescopic optical system. As a consequence, when the subject is reproduced on a television screen, a sharp image can be obtained.

Resolution of the camera of this type is lower than that of the ordinary cameras. A photographic film package having at least a taking lens and a member for effecting an exposure, comprises a box-shaped internal film casing with its back open which removably contains a film cartridge therein; an exposure chamber in the internal film casing; a supporting member supporting and forcing the film cartridge against the exposure chamber so as to maintain the inside of the exposure chamber light-tight; and a box-shaped external film casing encasing the internal film casing therein and which is provided with openings for exposing the taking lens and the exposure effecting member.

Photographic images are recorded by picking up a group of photographic images recorded in horizontal and vertical positions in substantially equally dimensioned frames to store in a storage medium video signals representative of the photographic images in the order of the group of photographic images. One of the many frame orientations, including the vertical and the horizontal positions, of the images recorded in the respective frames is selected. Then, out of the group of images, those which are in the selected orientation are selected. For the images in the vertical position, a magnification for forming a video signal which is smaller than that for the images in the horizontal position is set up. The selected photographic image is picked up to store a video signal representative of it in a store position of the storage medium assigned thereto. The selection, pickup and storage are performed on each of the photographic images which are in the selected frame orientation. Thereafter, the above procedure is repeated for the remaining necessary frame orientations.
