Polypropylene resin compositions are suited for injection molding and are capable of giving molded articles having excellent mechanical properties, reduced tendency to cause flow marks or weld marks, low gloss, and superior scratch resistance. A polypropylene resin composition includes: an amount of a resin composition (F) including a polypropylene (A), an ethylene-&#x3b1;-olef in copolymer or an ethylene-&#x3b1;-olefin-diene copolymer (B-I) having MFR of less than 0.4 g/10 min, an ethylene-&#x3b1;-olefin copolymer (B-2) having MFR of 0.5 to less than 20 g/10 min, and an inorganic filler (C); and specific amounts relative to the resin composition (F) of a modified polypropylene (D) and a surface modifier (E).

Polypropylene resin composition

Foaming polypropylene resin compositions are excellent in balance between melt tension and flowability, can give injection-molded foams having superior mechanical strength such as impact resistance, and are suited for the production of automobile parts or the like. Processes of the invention produce injection-molded foams from the compositions. A foaming polypropylene resin composition according to the present invention includes a polypropylene resin (A) and an ethylene/&#x3b1;-olefin having 3-10 carbon atoms copolymer (B) in a specific ratio; the ethylene/&#x3b1;-olefin having 3-10-carbon atoms copolymer (B) includes a higher molecular weight component (B-H) having MFRof 1 to 10 g/10 min and a lower molecular weight component (B-L) having MFRof 20 to 50 g/10 min; and the weight ratio between (B-H) and (B-L), (B-H):(B-L), is in the range of 6:4 to 2:8.

Foaming polypropylene resin composition and process for producing injection-molded foams from the composition

An automobile part comprising a polypropylene resin composition, the polypropylene resin composition comprising a propylene homopolymer (A1), an elastomer (B) and an inorganic filler (C) in specified proportions. The polypropylene homopolymer (A1) exhibits an MFR (230&#xb0; C.) of 20 to 300 g/10 min, a ratio of position irregular units derived from 2,1-insertion or 1,3-insertion of propylene monomer relative to all propylene structural units, determined from aC-NMR spectrum, each of 0.05% or less, and an Mw/Mn, determined by GPC, of 1 to 3.

Automobile part of polypropylene resin composition

To provide a resin composition comprising a polypropylene resin composition and an aluminum flake pigment for use as an automotive resin composition, which is excellent in mechanical strength, physical properties and flowability, and enables to produce molded products showing good metallic appearance. A composition comprising a crystalline propylene/ethylene block copolymer, an elastomeric polymer and an inorganic filler is a preferred example of the polypropylene resin composition, and aluminum flakes surface-coated with a polymer containing as constituent units acrylic acid, an acrylic acid ester, epoxylated polybutadiene and divinylbenzene are preferred examples of the aluminum flake pigment.

A propylene resin composition comprising (A) a crystalline propylene block copolymer in an amount of 89 to 30% by weight, which has a specific content of a 23&#xb0; C. n-decane-soluble component, said soluble component having a specific intrinsic viscosity [&#x3b7;]a as measured in decalin at 135&#xb0; C., has a specific melt flow rate (MFR, 230&#xb0; C., load of 2160 g), and has a specific isotactic pentad fraction of a polypropylene homopolymer portion as measured byC-NMR, (B) a crystalline propylene block copolymer in an amount of 5 to 25% by weight, which has a specific content of a 23&#xb0; C. n-decane-soluble component, said soluble component having a specific intrinsic viscosity [&#x3b7;]b as measured in decalin at 135&#xb0; C., has a specific melt flow rate (MFR, 230&#xb0; C., load of 2160 g), and has a specific isotactic pentad fraction of a polypropylene homopolymer portion as measured byC-NMR, (C) an elastomeric polymer in an amount of 1 to 20% by weight, which has a melt flow rate (MFR, 230C, load of 2160 g) of 0.5 to 30 g/10 min, and (D) an inorganic filler in an amount of 5 to 25% by weight.

Propylene resin composition

A polypropylene resin composition comprises (A) (a-1) a specific crystalline propylene/ethylene block copolymer or (a-3) a polymer mixture comprising the (a-1) and (a-2) a specific crystalline propylene-homopolymer in specific ratio, in an amount of 5 to 56% by weight, (B) a hydroxyl group-containing polypropylene having an intrinsic viscosity [&#x3b7;] of 0.8 to 2.0 dl/g and a melting point of 150 to 168&#xb0; C., in an amount of 10 to 45% by weight, (C) a copolymer rubber of ethylene and an &#x3b1;-olefin having a melt flow rate (ASTM D-1238, 230&#xb0; C., load of 2160 g) of 0.5 to 15 g/10 min, in an amount of 18 to 25% by weight, (D) a hydrogenation product of a block copolymer containing a polymer block of a monovinyl-substituted aromatic hydrocarbon compound and a polymer block of a conjugated diene compound, in an amount of 1 to 10% by weight, and (E) an inorganic filler in an amount of 15 to 25% by weight, the total amount of said components (A), (B), (C), (D) and (E) being 100% by weight, hydroxyl group-containing monomer units derived from the hydroxyl group-containing polypropylene (B) being contained in amounts of 1.3 to 4.0% by weight in 100% by weight of the polypropylene resin composition. The polypropylene resin composition exhibits excellent coating adhesion properties and has excellent processability and mechanical strength with a good balance.

Polypropylene resin compositions

An automobile part comprising a polypropylene resin composition, the polypropylene resin composition comprising a propylene homopolymer (A1), an elastomer (B) and an inorganic filler (C), or comprising a propylene block copolymer (A2) and an inorganic filler (C) optionally together with an elastomer (B), in specified proportions. The propylene homopolymer (A1), or the propylene homopolymer segment of the propylene block copolymer (A2) exhibits an MFR (230-C) of 20 to 300 g/10 min, a ratio of position irregular units derived from 2,1-insertion or 1,3-insertion of propylene monomer relative to all propylene structural units, determined from aC-NMR spectrum, each of 0.2% or less, and an Mw/Mn, determined by GPC, of 1 to 3.

Automotive part made of polypropylene resin composition

The present invention provides a resin composition based on crystalline polypropylene which includes: (a) 3-65% by weight of a component soluble in paraxylene of 23&deg; C., (b) 35-97% by weight of a component soluble in paraxylene of 135&deg; C. and insoluble in paraxylene of 23&deg; C., and (c) 0-30% by weight of a compoent insoluble in paraxylene of 135&deg; C. The component (a) soluble in paraxylene of 23&deg; C. is composed substantially of an elastomeric constituent (a1) having a content of styrene or its derivative in the range of 0-35% by weight and an intrinsic viscosity (n) in the range of 0.1-5 dl/g, the component (b) soluble is paraxylene of 135&deg; C. and insoluble in paraxylene of 23&deg; C. is composed substantially of a crystalline polyproylene constituent (b1) having an isotactic pentad proportion (mmmm) of 97% or higher, a molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) of 6 or higher and a molecular weight distribution (Mz/Mw) of 6 or higher and the component (c) insoluble in paraxylene of 135&deg; C. is composed substantially of a filler (c1).

A polypropylene resin composition for use in automotive inner and outer trims, comprising 50 to 85% by weight of a crystalline polypropylene (A) having an MFR (230&deg; C.) of 7 to 70 g/10 min, 2 to 16% by weight of a hydrogenated block copolymer (B) obtained by hydrogenating at a hydrogenation ratio of at least 90% an aromatic vinyl/conjugated diene block copolymer which contains an aromatic vinyl block polymer unit in an amount of 22% by weight or less and has an MFR (230&deg; C.) of at least 5 g/10 min, and 5 to 25% by weight of an inorganic filler (G) having an average particle size of 0.1 to 3 &mgr;m as essential components. This composition may contain, as optional components, another hydrogenated block copolymer (C), an aromatic hydrocarbon copolymer (D), a crystalline polyethylene (E) and a soft ethylene/&agr;-olefin copolymer (F). This composition is excellent in heat resistance, rigidity and impact resistance and can provide a molding having beautiful appearance.

Polypropylene resin composition for use in automotive inner and outer trims

A crystalline propyleiie block-copolymer composition exhibiting superior flowability upon molding for use in automobile parts, which composition comprises 41 to 71% by weight of a crystalline propylene block-copolymer composed of a propylene homopolymer portion (Fp) and an ethylene/propylene random copolymer portion (Fc) and having an ethylene content of 1 to 10% by weight and a melt flow rate (MFR) of 20 to 100 g/10 min.; 12 to 22% by weight of a first hydrogenated product of a block-copolymer having a relatively smaller stylene content; 2 to 12% by weight of a second hydrogenated product of a block-copolymer having a relatively greater stylene content; and 15 to 25% by weight of talc, wherein the propylene homopolymer portion (Fp) contains 20 to 50% by weight of a low molecular weight propylene homopolymer having an MFR of 400 to 1,000 g/10 min., the average MFR being 100 to 350 g/10 min. and the isotactic pentad fraction being at least 98%, and wherein the said (Fc) has an intrinsic viscosity of 7 dl/g or higher.

Crystalline propylene block-copolymer composition for use in automobile

A polypropylene resin composition having excellent rigidity, impact resistance and formability (moldability) and thus useful for the interior parts of automobile, includes (A) a crystalline E/P block copolymer containing a fraction Ac soluble in p-xylene at room temperature and having an ethylene content of 18 to 22%; (B) a crystalline E/P block copolymer containing a fraction Bc soluble in p-xylene at room temperature and having an ethylene content of 27 to 40% and (C) talc particles having an average size of 3 to 5 .mu.m and largest size less than 20 .mu.m, in which composition, (a) the p-xylene-soluble fractions Ac and Bc are in contents As and Bs based on the total weight of the copolymers (A) and (B) and satisfying As+Bs=7 to 17% by weight and As/(A +Bs)=0.1 to 0.6; (b) an isotactic pentad fraction of propylene in each of copolymers (A) and (B) is 96% or more, and the mixture of the copolymers (A) and (B) has a MFR of 20 to 35 g/10 min at 230.degree. C. under 2160 g load; and (c) the copolymers (A) and (B) are in a total weight content of 50 to 95% and talc (C) is in a weight content of 5 to 50%.

A polypropylene resin composition comprising the following components (A), (B), (C) and (D): (A) a crystalline ethylene-propylene block copolymer containing a room-temperature-p-xylene-soluble fraction Ac having an ethylene content of 12-26% by weight and an intrinsic viscosity (measured at 135.degree. C. in decalin) of 6 dl/g or more, (B) a crystalline ethylene-propylene block copolymer containing a room-temperature-p-xylene-soluble fraction Bc having an ethylene content of 27-50% by weight and an intrinsic viscosity (measured at 135.degree. C. in decalin) of 4 dl/g or less, (C) an ethylene-.alpha.-olefin copolymer obtained by polymerization using a single-site catalyst, having a molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) of 2.5 or less, a melt flow ratio (MI.sub.10 /MI.sub.2.16) of 6-15 (wherein MI.sub.10 is a melt index measured at 190.degree. C. under a load of 10 kg and MI.sub.2.16 is a melt index measured at 190.degree. C. under a load of 2.16 kg) and an .alpha.-olefin proportion of 70 mole % or less, and (D) a talc having an average particle diameter of 3-7 .mu.m as measured by laser diffraction. In the composition the weight ratios As and Bs of the room-temperature-p-xylene-soluble fractions Ac and Bc to the total weight of the components (A) and (B) satisfy the following formulas (1) and (2):
