The porous-cellulose particles according to the present invention are constituted by gathered crystalline celluloses having a type I crystal form including a glucose molecule as a constitutional unit. That is, porous-cellulose particles having high sphericity have been achieved from a natural raw material. The porous-cellulose particles have an average particle diameter of 0.5 to less than 50 &#x3bc;m, a specific surface area of 50 to 1000 m/g, and a sphericity of 0.85 or more. Cosmetic products containing such porous-cellulose particles have excellent texture properties.

There is provided a spherical organic-inorganic composite particle having good biodegradability. The organic-inorganic composite particle according to the present invention includes 1 to 79% by weight of a silica component and 21 to 99% by weight of a biodegradable plastic. The organic-inorganic composite particle has an average particle diameter dof 0.5 to 25 &#x3bc;m, a true density of 1.03 to 2.00 g/cm, and a sphericity of 0.80 or more. A cosmetic product including the organic-inorganic composite particle having such properties has excellent texture properties.

The hollow particles according to the present invention has a balloon structure which includes a cavity inside a shell, and include convex portions with a size of 3 to 100 nm on the surface. The particles have a true specific gravity of 0.3 to 3.0 g/cm, a specific surface area (m/cm) per unit volume calculated by a BET method of not less than 0.5 and less than 60, and an average particle diameter (d) of 1 to 20 &#x3bc;m. Cosmetics containing such hollow particles have a soft texture property similar to plastic beads.

The present invention provides organic-inorganic composite particles having a suitable biodegradability. The organic-inorganic composite particles of the present invention include a silica component and a biodegradable plastic. The organic-inorganic composite particles have a mean particle diameter (d) ranging from 0.5 &#x3bc;m to 25 &#x3bc;m, an absolute specific gravity greater than 1.0 g/cm3 and equal to or smaller than 2.0 g/cm3, and a contact angle with water of 90&#xb0; or less. A cosmetic product including the organic-inorganic composite particles has good texture characteristics.
