A thermoplastic resin composition comprises a thermoplastic resin (A) and graft copolymer particles (B) having a hollow rubber portion and graft chain, in which a volumetric proportion of hollow part in the hollow rubber portion of the graft copolymer particles is 1 to 70% by volume. The thermoplastic resin composition contains the thermoplastic resin and the graft copolymer particles in a weight ratio (A)/(B) of 2/98 to 100/1. The hollow part in the graft copolymer particle functions to further improve impact resistance.

Thermoplastic resin composition having impact resistance

There is provided a thermoplastic resin composition and interior or exterior parts for vehicle using thereof, which is excellent in flexibility, surface appearance, heat deformation property at heating and has low tackiness at a high temperature. The thermoplastic resin composition comprises 25 to 90 parts by weight of a (meth)acrylic ester copolymer (X), which is prepared by polymerizing 40 to 95% by weight of a (meth)acrylic ester, 0 to 40% by weight of a vinyl cyanide compound, not more than 60% by weight of an aromatic vinyl compound and 0 to 40% by weight of a monomer copolymerizable therewith, and has a glass transition temperature of not more than 20&deg; C. and a gel content of not more than 50% by weight, 5 to 75 parts by weight of a copolymer (Y), which has a glass transition temperature or a melting point not less than 50&deg; C., and 0 to 70 parts by weight of a graft copolymer (Z), which is prepared by polymerizing 5 to 95% by weight of a rubber polymer (A) and 5 to 95% by weight of a vinyl monomer (B), and wherein hardness thereof at 20&deg; C. measured by the method of JIS K6301 is 30 to 100.

Rubber latexes, graft copolymers, and thermoplastic resin compositions

A rubber-containing resin composition suitable as an impact modifier for styrene resins (such as styrene homopolymer and copolymers and polymer alloys thereof with other thermoplastic resins), which comprises (A) a graft copolymer having a graft ratio of 10 to 80% by weight wherein a graft component comprising 15 to 60% by mole of at least one vinyl cyanide compound, 40 to 85% by mole of at least one aromatic vinyl compound and 0 to 30% by mole of at least one other monomer copolymerizable with them is graft-copolymerized onto a diene rubber having a volume average particle size of 100 to 1,000 nm by an emulsion polymerization method, and (B) an emulsion-polymerized copolymer of 15 to 60% by mole of at least one vinyl cyanide compound, 40 to 85% by mole of at least one aromatic vinyl compound and 0 to 30% by mole of at least one other monomer copolymerizable with them, which has a weight average molecular weight of 5,000 to 90,000 and a ratio of weight average molecular weight to number average molecular weight of 1.5 to 4.5, in which the ratio of the graft copolymer (A) to the copolymer (B) is from 50/50 to 95/5 by weight. A styrene resin composition comprising the rubber-containing resin composition and a styrene resin provides molded articles having excellent properties such as impact resistance, mechanical property, heat resistance and surface appearance with good processability.

Rubber-containing resin composition and styrene resin composition

A thermoplastic resin composition which has low rigidity such as bending strength, bending modulus and tensile strength, high impact resistance, and further low stress and large energy absorption at the time of impact, high heat deformation resistance and excellent moldability and comprises 5 to 65 by weight of the copolymer (I) having Tg (glass transition temperature) of not more than 20.degree. C., 20 to 80 parts by weight of the maleimide copolymer (II) and 15 to 75 part by weight of the graft copolymer (III) having a graft ratio of 10 to 70% so that the total amount of the copolymers (I), (II) and (III) becomes 100 parts by weight, can be obtained.

Resin composition excellent in impact strength

A nonflammable injection-molding resin composition. The composition includes a nonflammable resin component containing a low-molecular-weight styrene resin having a high .alpha.-methylstyrene content; a rubbery polymer having grafted thereon a vinyl cyanide and/or alkyl (meth)acrylate monomer and an aromatic vinyl monomer; a low-molecular weight post-chlorinated polyvinyl chloride resin and, optionally, a vinyl chloride resin; and, as a moldability-improving agent, a specific alkyl acrylate resin comprising a vinyl cyanide monomer, an alkyl acrylate monomer and an optional copolymerizable vinyl monomer. The nonflammable resin composition provides injection-molded articles with a good balance of impact strength and non-peeling properly and is excellent in moldability.

Nonflammable injection-molding resin composition

A flame retardant resin composition which includes 100 weight parts of a rubber-reinforced styrene-based resin, 2.about.35 weight parts of an epoxy-oligomer of tetrabromobisphenol-A (A1), 2.about.35 weight parts of bis-(tribromophenoxy)ethane (A2), 1.about.15 weight parts of antimony trioxide (B), and 0.1.about.10 weight parts of chlorinated polyethylene (C), wherein the total of the above (A1), (A2), (B) and (C) are 8.about.50 weight parts and the weight ratio of (A1)/(A2) is 10/90.about.75/25. The composition of the present invention has well-balanced flame retardance and impact resistance.

Flame retardant resin composition

A thermoplastic resin composition contains from 5 to 98 parts by weight of a styrene resin (A) and/or a vinyl chloride resin (B) and from 95 to 2 parts by weight of a modificed olefin polymer (C) having, per from 2 to 1,000 olefin-derived repeating units, one structural unit containing at least one amido group (a) and at least one reactive group (b) selected from glycidyloxy group and glycidyl group. The composition can be used for producing shaped articles required to have high strength such as interior automotive parts, housings for office appliances, various machine parts, and electrical or electronic parts.

Styrene or vinyl chloride resin with glycidyl(oxy)/amido-modified

A modified nonflammable molding resin composition. The composition is a blend of (A) a nonflammable resin composition composed of 30 to 80% by weight of a styrene resin having a methyl ethyl keton-soluble portion having a reduced viscosity of 0.2 to 0.5 dl/g and 70 to 20% by weight of a vinyl chloride resin having a polymerization degree of 400 to 800; and 0.5 to 15 parts, based on 100 parts by weight of the nonflammable resin composition (A), of (B) a copolymer of a vinyl cyanide, an alkyl methacrylate, an aromatic vinyl compound and another copolymerizable vinyl monomer in specified ratios and having a reduced viscosity of not less than 1.8 dl/g. The composition has improved heat stability in injection molding and excellent heat resistance.

Modified nonflammable resin composition

A flame-retardant injection-molding resin composition. The composition contains (A) 100 parts by weight of a flame-retardant resin composed of 30% to 80% by weight of styrene resin having a reduced viscosity of methyl-ethyl-ketone soluble portions of 0.2 to 0.55 dl/g in N,N-dimethylformamide at a concentration of 0.3 g/dl at 30.degree. C., and from 20% to 70% by weight of a polyvinyl chloride resin having a polymerization degree of from 400 to 800; and (B) 0.5 to 10 parts by weight of a copolymer of from 3% to 35% by weight of a vinyl cyanide compound, 30% to 97% by weight of an alkyl acrylate and 0% to 67% by weight of a vinyl monomer being copolymerizable with the vinyl cyanide compound and the alkyl acrylate. The flame-retardant injection-molding resin composition provides injection-molded articles of high impact strength and low delamination tendency and has excellent thermal stability, flame resistance and heat stability.
