The present disclosure relates to methods and devices for display processing including an apparatus, e.g., a DPU. The apparatus may detect at least one of a scene change between successive frames of a plurality of frames or a threshold number of received frames of the plurality of frames. The apparatus may also generate at least one of a saliency map, an object segmentation map, or a depth map based on a down-sampled image of a first frame. The apparatus may also apply a CMF for a color space associated with the plurality of frames to the plurality of pixels in one or more subsequent frames of the plurality of frames, the CMF being applied until at least one of a subsequent scene change or a subsequent threshold number of received frames.

Methods and apparatus for saliency based frame color enhancement

This disclosure provides systems, methods, and devices for the prevention of color leakage in Field Sequential Display while maintaining display brightness. In a first aspect, a method of signal processing includes receiving a first frame of a first color of image data; selecting a modified first frame of the first color by applying a recursive filter to the first frame, wherein the recursive filter is associated with at least one previous frame of a second color different from the first color; and selecting first pixel drive values associated with the modified first frame. Overdrive technique for faster switching in field sequential display

Methods and apparatus for graphics processing, such as producing a smooth transition between images of different dynamic ranges (e.g., Standard Dynamic Range (SDR) images and High Dynamic Range (HDR) images). An example method generally includes using a high frame rate during a transition period to allow properties of images to incrementally vary. The properties may include brightness (i.e., luminance), color gamut, tone mapping, among others. For example, during the transition period, a subset of HDR images are displayed at a second frame rate (e.g., 120 Hz) higher than a frame rate based on the HDR images (e.g., 30 Hz). Simultaneously, a brightness level (as well as other aspects) of the display panel is adjusted incrementally from an SDR brightness level to an HDR brightness level during the transition time period over the subset of the HDR images.

Displaying images of different dynamic ranges

The present disclosure relates to methods and devices for display processing including an apparatus, e.g., a DPU. The apparatus may receive a plurality of panel measurements for a display panel, each of the plurality of panel measurements associated with a plurality of subpixels in the display panel. The apparatus may also determine, upon receiving the plurality of panel measurements, at least one offset for one or more subpixels of the plurality of subpixels associated with each of the plurality of panel measurements. The apparatus may also store, upon determining the at least one offset for the one or more subpixels, the at least one offset for the one or more subpixels associated with each of the plurality of panel measurements.

Adaptive subsampling for demura corrections

In general, aspects disclosed herein provide techniques for processing video data. Certain aspects provide a method for processing video data comprising a plurality of frames for display on a display as discussed herein. The method includes determining a sampling rate (N) based on a frame rate used for displaying the video data on the display. The sampling rate N is greater than 1. The method further includes, for every N frames of the plurality of frames, processing one or more statistics associated with a frame determine one or more display settings. The method further includes outputting to the display the corresponding N frames of the plurality of frames using the one or more display settings.

Video data processing based on sampling rate

The present disclosure relates to methods and devices for video or frame processing including an apparatus, e.g., a video or frame processor. In some aspects, the apparatus may receive a video stream including a plurality of frames, each of the plurality of frames including luminance information. The apparatus may also perform a histogram analysis on the luminance information for each of the plurality of frames. Additionally, the apparatus may determine whether a difference between the luminance information for each of the plurality of frames and a current luminance distribution is greater than a perceptual threshold. The apparatus may also calculate an updated tone mapping configuration based on the luminance information for a frame when the difference between the luminance information for the frame and the current luminance distribution is greater than the perceptual threshold.

Methods and apparatus for histogram based tone mapping

The present disclosure relates to methods and apparatus for image processing. The apparatus can generate object mask information for one or more objects in a first image of a plurality of images in a scene. In some aspects, the first image can be at least one of a downscaled image, a down-sampled image, or a low resolution image. The apparatus can also determine one or more object classifications of the first image based on the generated object mask information. Additionally, the apparatus can identify a modification to at least one of the one or more object classifications based on a second image of the plurality of images in the scene. In some aspects, the apparatus can adjust or maintain the one or more object classifications based on the identified modification to at least one of the one or more object classifications.

Methods and apparatus for adaptive object classification

The present disclosure relates to methods and apparatus for display processing. In some aspects, the apparatus can measure at least one panel including one or more panel measurements. The apparatus can also determine at least one correction factor for each of the one or more panel measurements. Further, the apparatus can adjust the at least one correction factor based on each of the one or more panel measurements. In some aspects, the apparatus can compress the at least one correction factor based on each of the one or more panel measurements. Moreover, the apparatus can store the compressed at least one correction factor. In some aspects, the apparatus can decode correction data for at least one frame based on the adjusted at least one correction factor. The apparatus can also store or communicate the decoded correction data for the at least one frame.

Methods and apparatus for utilizing display correction factors

The present disclosure relates to methods and devices for video processing. In one aspect, the device may obtain a video stream with a plurality of frames. The device can also map, for each frame of the plurality of frames, a first luminance level associated with the frame to a second luminance level based on a transfer function. In some aspects, the transfer function can also include a first function for a first luminance level range and a second function for a second luminance level range, the first function being non-linear and the second function being polynomial. Additionally, the device can indicate, for each frame of the plurality frames, the second luminance level within the video stream. Moreover, the transfer function can include a third function for a third luminance level range, wherein the third function may be between the first and second functions.

A method of content compression including receiving a first block of samples including at least a first sample and a second sample, calculating a predictor value for the first block of samples, calculating a residual between the predictor value and the first sample, quantizing the residual to generate a quantized residual, de-quantizing the quantized residual to generate a de-quantized residual, reconstructing the first sample using the de-quantized residual and the predictor value to generate a first reconstructed sample, calculating an error value based on the first sample and the first reconstructed sample, and modifying the second sample by the error value.

Provided are systems and methods for used fixed-point instead of floating point techniques in order to calculate various parameters for coding video data, including target rate, QP adjustment, buffer fullness, a Lagrangian parameters for a bitrate, and/or a Lagrangian parameter for the fullness of the buffer. By determining one or more of the parameters using fixed-point, hardware implementation costs may be decreased.

System and methods for fixed-point approximations in display stream compression (DSC)

Methods and apparatuses for display stream compression pixel format extension using subpixel packing are disclosed. In one aspect, the method involves packing pixel values arranged in an O-channel format for encoding by an M-channel codec. The method may further involve receiving a set of input pixel values, each input pixel value including O input subpixel values arranged in the O-channel format. The method may involve rearranging each of the input subpixel values into a set of output pixel values, each set of output pixel values comprising M output subpixel values arranged in an M-channel format, O having a greater value than M, wherein at least a portion of the rearranged M output subpixels maintain their relative spatial positioning from prior to being rearranged from the O input subpixel values. The method may also involve providing the output pixel values to the M-channel codec.

Display stream compression pixel format extensions using subpixel packing

Techniques of this disclosure may include processing one or more regions-of-interest (ROI) of an input image through a model of a display processor, calculating a first data integrity check value on the one or more ROI of the input image after processing through the model, processing the input image by the display processor, calculating a second data integrity check value on the one or more ROI by the display processor after the display processor processes the input image, comparing the first data integrity check value to the second data integrity check value, and generating an interrupt if the comparison indicates that the first data integrity check value and the second data integrity check value do not match.

In an example, a method for image processing may include inputting a first pixel value corresponding to a first pixel of an image into a LUT. The LUT may map one or more LUT input values to one or more LUT output values. The first pixel value may correspond to a first LUT input value that maps to a first LUT output value in the LUT. The first pixel may include one or more pixel values. The method may include generating a noise value for the first LUT input value. The method may include generating a first interpolated LUT output value for the first LUT input value based on the noise value. The method may include transforming the image into a transformed image using the first interpolated LUT output value.
