The present invention relates to a battery diagnosis system and method, and disclosed is a battery diagnosis system including a receiving unit that receives information on a high voltage battery and charge state information of the high voltage battery of a vehicle being charged; a control unit that controls a current of the high voltage battery; a measurement unit that measures a voltage change amount of the high voltage battery in which the current is controlled; and a determination unit that determines the battery having the voltage change amount of an abnormal battery among the voltage change amounts of the battery measured in the measurement unit.

A system for managing a vehicle battery that is chargeable/dischargeable and stores energy for driving a vehicle driving motor is disclosed. The system for managing a vehicle battery as disclosed includes a controller that receives a voltage of each of a plurality of battery cells in a vehicle battery, a temperature of the vehicle battery, and an insulation resistance of the vehicle battery, determines a reference value based on a deviation between voltages of the plurality of battery cells and the temperature of the vehicle battery, and determines whether the vehicle battery is abnormal by comparing the determined reference value with the insulation resistance.

A pouch battery having improved overcharging safety includes a CID interrupting an electrical connection between an electrode assembly and a lead tab when the pouch is expanded. When the pouch is expanded, the CID discharges gas generated inside the pouch to the outside, and at the time of overcharging a secondary battery, the CID interrupts a flow of current introduced into the secondary battery and discharges the gas generated due to the overcharging to the outside of the pouch, thereby reducing an ignition risk and improving the overcharging safety.

An overcharge safety device includes a switch electrically connecting a lead tap of a battery cell with a bus bar, and includes a guide member connected with the switch and movable as a pouch of the battery cell swells. A swelling current interrupt device (CID) includes: a battery unit connection terminal configured to be fixed to a pouch; and a lead tab connection terminal configured to be fixed to the pouch and electrically connected to the battery unit connection terminal, wherein any one of the battery unit connection terminal and the lead tab connection terminal is broken by an expansion force of the pouch which is generated when the pouch expands to interrupt the electrical connection between the battery unit connection terminal and the lead tab connection terminal.
