Described is a method of manufacture of 3D objects from composite materials. The method includes the use of an extrusion nozzle configured to extrude the composite material, including a multistrand filament with a thixotropic acrylic matrix material surrounding the multistrand filament. Extruding a 3D object surface segment spanning in the air over at least a segment of a discontinuous work surface and operating concurrently a source of curing energy to pin and enhance the strength of a 3D object surface segment spanning in air. The 3D object extruded surface segment spanning in the air is sufficiently rigid and maintains its shape without the use of a mandrel.

Automated manufacture of 3D objects from composite material

An apparatus for manufacturing of 3D objects is provided. The apparatus includes a number of material deposition heads terminated by nozzles, of which one or two nozzles are configured to deposit a first material to form a first and second pattern layers. The pattern layers are laterally shifted from each other such that when the first and second pattern layers are deposited, a space (empty volume) with a varying cross section is formed. In some examples, two or more nozzles could be used to deposit the corresponding first and second pattern layers. The nozzles could move independent of each other.

Complex shaped 3D objects fabrication

A curing system for printing of 3D objects having one or more sources of curing radiation moveably attached to and flanking at least one side of an extrusion head and extrusion nozzle wherein the extrusion head and extrusion nozzle and the at least one source of curing radiation act in unison as a single unit wherein curing of deposited curable material is applied concurrently with or immediately following deposition of the curable material.

The current three-dimensional object manufacturing technique relies on the deposition of a pseudoplastic material in gel aggregate state. The gel flows through a deposition nozzle because the applied agitation and pressure shears the bonds and induces a breakdown in the material elasticity. The elasticity recovers immediately after leaving the nozzle, and the gel solidifies to maintain its shape and strength.

Method and appratus for manufacture of 3D objects

Disclosed is an additive manufacturing device that facilitates the manufacturing of relatively large 3D objects at a short time. The device uses radiation-curable resin and radiation curing system. Layer shaping members are disclosed to provide both for shorter manufacturing time of an object, minimizing waste of resin and reduction of weight. Curing radiation sources are also designed to minimizing waste of resin and manufacturing time.

Additive manufacturing device

An additive manufacturing device is disclosed that enables the manufacturing of 3D objects at a short time. The device uses multiple writing heads to write simultaneously different segments of the object and thus complete the object manufacture in a shorter time as compared to a one head additive manufacturing device.

An apparatus for additive manufacturing of large 3D hollow objects with thin walls, includes a 3D hollow object material deposition module configured to deposit a portion of material forming at least a layer of a 3D hollow object wall; a 3D hollow object material solidifying module configured to solidify at least the portion of material forming at least a layer of the 3D hollow object wall; and a support material dispensing module configured to dispense a support material across a cross section of the 3D hollow object wall. The support material is dispensed separately prior to or concurrently with the deposition of the portion of material forming at least a layer of a 3D hollow object wall.

Method of forming a three-dimensional object

The current document discloses an apparatus and method that support manufacture of large 3D hollow objects or shells with thin walls including curved surfaces with high and low curvature change ratio and alleviate or significantly reduce the need for support structures. Further to this, introduction of support structures becomes a function of the curved surface curvature change ratio.

Disclosed is a system for printing an image comprising a plurality of pixels, the system comprising: a carriage arranged to make a plurality of passes along a scanning axis with respect to a print medium; a plurality of printheads mounted on the carriage, each printhead corresponding to a different ink color and comprising at least one ejection nozzle; and, a print controller configured to receive data defining for each pass zero or more locations at which to deposit each of the ink colors to produce each pixel; wherein the data is such that for at least one pixel, at least one of the ink colors is deposited at substantially more locations on one pass relative to the other passes.

Disclosed is a method of multi pass inkjet printing on wide format flexible substrates where errors in flexible substrate positions are corrected by adapting the geometry and position of the next printed swath to the geometry of the adjacent earlier printed image swath.

Method of printing on large format flexible substrate and printing apparatus

A printing system and a method for printing in a multi-pass, bi-directional mode is provided. The method includes printing some boundary portions of an image in a first print-direction such that a non-printed area is traversed before a printed area and printing other boundary portions of the image in the opposite print-direction.
