Device () for producing torque, the device including an armature () made of a printed circuit board, at least one winding () formed on the armature in a substantially rectangular spiral path, at least one magnetic field inducer () and a counteractive-torque producing element () coupled with the armature, the armature being rotatable about a rotation axis, each of the magnetic field inducers being located in the vicinity of a respective corner of the substantially rectangular spiral path, each of the magnetic field inducers producing a magnetic field along a magnetic axis in a selected direction, the selected direction being opposite to another selected direction respective of an adjacent magnetic field inducer, each of the magnetic axes being substantially normal to the substantially rectangular spiral path, the windings and the magnetic field inducers applying the torque on the armature, when electric power is applied to the windings, the torque being at a torque level respective of a selected power level, the counteractive-torque producing element applying a counteractive torque on the armature in a direction opposite to that of the torque.

Torque producing device

The invention provides a device for linear scanning, including at least one reflecting element whereby an incident beam of light undergoes at least two reflections; at least one optical system comprising an objective capable of forming an image of an object, the objective, depending on the respective direction of the light beam, defining a pre-objective scanning space and a post-objective scanning space; a mounting structure for the at least one reflecting element; drive means for causing the mounting structure to perform a movement; and a light-detecting element for detecting the incident beam of light, or an element for producing light, wherein, with light-detecting, scanning takes place in the post-objective space, and with light-producing, scanning takes place in the pre-objective space.

Optical scanner

The invention provides an optical tracing system for measuring elevation of a reference body above a reference surface, comprising a laser transmitter radiating a light beam in a downward direction; an optical unit for imaging the radiation reflected from said body and said surface on a detector; filtering means for separating light originating from said laser from background illumination, and signal processing means for identifying said reference body and for measuring the elevation thereof from said surface.

Optical tracing system for measuring elevation of a reference body above

A system for measuring distances between a central location and any number of remote locations. A transmitter at the central location radiates one or two rotating beams which rotate at an angular velocity which need not be determined. Specially placed sensors at a remote location sense the passage of the beam or beams and allow the accurate determination of the distance between the transmitter and the sensors without the need to measure and/or communicate the angular velocity of rotation of the transmitter signals.
