A solid catalyst component for the polymerization of olefins, made from or containing Mg, Ti and an electron donor of formula (I) where independently, Z is a bridging group, the Rgroups, equal to or different from each other, are hydrogen or a C-Chydrocarbon radicals, m is a number satisfying the valences of Z and n is an integer ranging from 1 to 10, Rand Rare selected from C-Chydrocarbon groups, optionally containing a heteroatom selected from halogen, P, S, N, O; and Rgroup, is hydrogen or Rgroups.

The present disclosure relates to a catalyst component for the polymerization of olefins comprising Mg. Ti and an electron donor such as mercaptoester derivatives of the general formula (I). in which Z is selected from C, Si, O, N, S or P, with the proviso that the atoms O, S, P and N are not directly linked to either the carboxylic group or the sulfur atom of formula (I), the Rgroups, equal to or different from each other, are selected from hydrogen or a C-Chydrocarbon radicals, optionally containing a heteroatom selected from halogen, P, S, N, O and Si, which can be fused together to form one or more cycles, m is a number satisfying the valences of Z and n is an integer ranging from 1 to 10, X is O or S, Y is &#x2014;OR, &#x2014;NRR) or Rgroups in which Rand Rare selected from C-Chydrocarbon groups, optionally containing a heteroatom selected from halogen, P, S, N, O, and Si, R-Rgroups, independently, are hydrogen or Rgroups, and Rgroups have the same composition as Rgroups.

The present disclosure relates to metallocene catalysts for use in polymerization processes. Such catalysis may be used to generate long chain polymers with low long chain branching and high molecular weights. Additionally, the size of the polymers produced can be controlled by modifying the ratio of MAO or other activator to metallocene catalyst.

The present disclosure provides metallocene catalysts for use in polymerization processes. Such catalysts may be used to generate polymers with low branching and high molecular weights. Also, the present disclosure provides methods of bimodal polymerization resulting in a duality of average molecular weight polymers being simultaneously produced. In the system, the size of the polymers produced can be controlled by modifying the type and amount of catalyst activator.
