One or more embodiments of the present disclosure describe an RFID-enabled roofing accessory. The roofing accessory may include a roofing shingle, such as an asphalt roofing shingle. The roofing accessory may include an RFID tag incorporated thereon. The RFID tag may be adhered to the roofing accessories.

Roofing shingle having uniquely identifiable radio frequency-based tag and methods of use thereof

A system for providing cryptographically-secured communication is disclosed. The system receives activities from clients including data for inclusion on a distributed ledger of a distributed ledger architecture. The system then processes each activity and determines whether an activity corresponds to an event subscribed to by at least one computing device. The event may correspond to the presence of a communication in an activity received by the system. The system validates the data associated with the activity by utilizing a plurality of validators and without requiring a threshold level of consensus if the activity corresponds to the event. If the activity does not correspond to the event, the system validates using the threshold level of consensus. Once the activity is validated, the system submits the data associated with the activity for inclusion on the distributed ledger so that the communication is made available to the at least one off-chain computing device.

A method including: obtaining a flexible underlayment, wherein the flexible underlayment comprises: a first sensor, wherein the first sensor comprises a first flexible circuit, and wherein the first flexible circuit is configured to: measure a first value representative of a first roofing system condition measurement, wherein the first flexible circuit measures the first value at a first location, wherein a first location identifier indicative of the first location is stored in a database in communication with the first sensor; determine a first roofing system condition in the first location based at least in part on the first value and the first location identifier; and generate a first notification representative of the first roofing system condition; installing the flexible underlayment on a roof deck of a steep slope roof of a structure; installing a first roofing shingle over the flexible underlayment and above at least the first sensor.

Sensing roofing system and method thereof

In some embodiments, the present disclosure provides an exemplary system that includes radio frequency (RF) tags; positioned at locations throughout a roof; a tag reader configured to: generate reader RF signals at one or more frequencies to read the plurality of RF tags, and detect return RF signals from the plurality of RF tags; where the RF signals carry tag data comprising impedance values and tag identifiers; a processor of a computing device, programmed to receive the tag data; determine corresponding locations of the plurality of RF tags; and determine a wet state or dry state of the roof at one or more corresponding locations, and output an indicator of the wet state or the dry state of the roof at the one or more corresponding locations.
