A lift device includes a chassis, a lift assembly supported on the chassis, a platform including a platform floor, a sensor coupled to the platform and positioned adjacent the platform floor, and a control system in communication with the lift assembly and the sensor. The sensor is oriented to sense objects or obstacles above the platform. The platform is displaceable by the lift assembly between a raised position and a lowered position.

Obstacle detection system for an aerial work platform

A charging system includes a service vehicle and a controller. The service vehicle includes a chassis, a series of tractive elements coupled to the chassis, an energy storage device, and a charging interface operatively coupled to the energy storage device. The controller is configured to identify a location of a vehicle, control the service vehicle to navigate to the location of the vehicle, and control the service vehicle to transfer energy from the energy storage device to the vehicle through the charging interface.

A wireless charging system includes a platform having a substantially horizontal upper surface configured to support a vehicle and an induction coil coupled to the platform. The induction coil is configured to receive electrical energy from an energy source and generate a magnetic field above the upper surface, the magnetic field being positioned to wirelessly transfer the electrical energy to the vehicle while the vehicle is positioned atop the platform.

A boom system includes a base assembly and a boom assembly. The boom assembly includes a boom including a plurality of boom sections. The plurality of boom sections includes a lower boom section coupled to and extending away from the base assembly and defining a proximal end of the boom and an upper boom section defining a distal end of the boom. The boom assembly further includes an attachment coupler assembly coupled to a boom section other than the upper boom section and configured to receive a first implement. The boom assembly further includes an implement connector positioned at the distal end of the boom, the implement connector configured to receive a second implement.

Multifunctional boom system

A lift device includes a lift apparatus for raising and lowering a robotic attachment. The lift apparatus includes a base assembly, the base assembly including a prime mover to rotate one or more wheels. The robotic attachment includes a base, a primary robotic implement, and a secondary robotic implement, each moveable independent of the base. The robotic attachment further includes a stabilizer bar coupled to the base and configured to engage with an external support to provide a stabilizing force to the robotic attachment. At least one of the primary robotic implement and the secondary robotic implement are configured to move one or more end effectors to perform a welding operation, including a weld gun, a weld lead, and a needle scaler. The lift apparatus may also include a control system configured to position the robotic implements in a plurality of preset positions.

A boom lift includes a base having a first end and an opposing second end, a turntable coupled to the base, a boom coupled to the turntable, an assembly pivotably coupled to the first end of the base, and a first actuator coupled to the first end of the base and the assembly. The assembly includes a tractive element. The assembly extends from the base such that the tractive element is longitudinally offset from and spaced forward of the first end and the opposing second end of the base.

A machine includes a chassis, a turntable coupled to the chassis, a boom coupled to the turntable, an axle, a first actuator, and a second actuator. The chassis has a first end and an opposing second end, and defines a longitudinal center axis. The turntable is selectively rotatable about a rotation axis. The axle is pivotally coupled to the first end of the chassis and configured to pivot about the longitudinal center axis. The first actuator is coupled to the first end of the chassis and positioned on a first side of the longitudinal center axis. The first actuator is extendable to selectively engage a first contact point on the axle. The second actuator is coupled to the first end of the chassis and positioned on an opposing second side of the longitudinal center axis. The second actuator is extendable to selectively engage a second contact point on the axle.

A work platform for a personnel lift includes a floor structure, a safety rail coupled with the floor structure and defining a personnel work area, and a control panel area. A protection envelope surrounds the control panel area and enhances protection for an operator from an obstruction or structure that may constitute a crushing hazard. In one arrangement, the protection envelope includes protection bars on either side of the control panel area extending above the safety rail relative to the floor structure. In another arrangement, the protection envelope includes a platform barrier that is configured to trip upon an application of a predetermined force.

A leveling system for a lift device includes an axle, a pin, a cradle, and a chassis. The axle is configured to rotatably couple with one or more tractive elements. The pin extends through a bore of the axle. The cradle is pivotally coupled with the pin. The chassis is pivotally coupled with the pin and includes a first actuator and a second actuator. The first actuator and the second actuator each include a body and a rod configured to extend relative to the body. The rods of the first actuator and the second actuator are configured to be extended to engage corresponding surfaces on opposite sides of the cradle. The cradle and the chassis are configured to rock in unison a limited angular amount relative to the axle.

Systems and methods for leveling and oscillation control of a lift device

A platform assembly includes a work platform including a platform floor and a safety rail extending from the platform floor to a rail height, and a primary sensor unit secured to the work platform and positioned adjacent one of the platform floor and the safety rail. The primary sensor unit is configured to monitor an area from the platform floor or from the safety rail to a space above the rail height and forward and aft of the work platform. The platform assembly enhances protection for an operator from sustained involuntary operation resulting in an impact with an obstruction or structure.

A system for protecting an operator on an aerial work platform from a crushing hazard includes a sensor, such as opto-electric sensor, positionable adjacent the control panel area. A control system is programmed to control operation of the driving components based on signals from the sensor.

Opto-electric system of enhanced operator control station protection

A lift machine includes a base having a first end and a second end, a first assembly, and a second assembly. The first end has first and second pivot points defining a first lateral axis. The second end has third and fourth pivot points defining a second lateral axis. The first assembly is pivotably coupled to the first and second pivot points. The first assembly extends away from the base in a first direction such that first and second tractive elements are longitudinally offset from the first lateral axis and spaced from the first end of the base. The second assembly is pivotably coupled to the third and fourth pivot points. The second assembly extends away from the base in a second direction such that third and fourth tractive elements are longitudinally offset from the second lateral axis and spaced from the second end of the base.

A vehicle control station includes a hand rest and at least one micro-joystick positioned relative to the hand rest such that the hand rest is configured to locate an operator's hand and fingers in position to operate the at least one micro-joystick. A function enable switch is configured to activate the at least one micro-joystick.
