Disclosed herein is a washing machine having the structure to reinforce fastening bosses () formed on a front surface of a tub () to mount a balance weight (). The washing machine comprises a tub () having a gasket coupling part () to which a gasket () is coupled, a plurality of fastening bosses () formed on a circumference about a central axis of the tub () to secure a balance weight (), and a plurality of ribs () to reinforce the fastening bosses (), wherein at least one of the ribs () formed in an outer direction of the tub () around each fastening boss () is thicker than the ribs () formed towards the central axis of the tub ().

A washing machine includes a bearing housing having a flange part and a tub injection-molded with the bearing housing inserted into a wall thereof, the wall having a recessing part and a projecting part formed on an inner or an outer surface thereof along a circumferential direction, and a circumferential rib or a radial rib formed on the recessing part.

A drum washing machine is provided. The drum washing machine includes a tub that stores wash water therein, a drum rotatably mounted within the tub, a motor mounted in a rear of the tub, the motor having a shaft to rotate the drum, a bearing housing inserted into the tub having a hollow portion, which allows the shaft of the motor to pass therethrough, formed in a center thereof, a bearing secured to the hollow of the bearing housing, and an outlet hole that discharges gas or moisture generated in the bearing and a portion adjacent to the bearing outside of the bearing housing. The drum washing machine so constructed has enhanced durability, because it includes the outlet hole provided in the bearing housing where the shaft rotates that prevents moisture or water from remaining in the bearing housing.

A washing machine includes a tub made of plastic to store water therein and a drum rotatably installed in the tub to hold laundry therein. A shaft passes through the tub and connects to the drum to transmit driving power from a motor to the drum. A wall having a recessing part and a projecting part is formed on an inner surface or outer surface thereof in a circumferential direction. A bearing housing has a stator fastening part where the stator fastening part has a recessing part and a projecting part corresponding with the recessing part and the projecting part of the wall in a circumferential direction, and a stator of the motor is mounted on the stator fastening part and a rotor of the motor is connected to a rear part of the shaft and surrounding the stator.
