Architectures and techniques are presented that can leverage safety metrics such as crime or health-based statistics at various geographic locations to supplement or improve navigation application searches or results. For example, navigation search results can be tagged with safety metric alert indicia if a location associated with a search result (or a location associated with a path to the point of interest of the search result) does not satisfy a defined safety metric. As another example, navigation search results can be generated as a function of the defined safety metric rather than merely as a function of distance, thereby operating to filter results that do not satisfy the safety metric, whether filtering a particular point of interest or filtering a path to a selected point of interest.

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, determining a group of users are participating in a communication session. Each user of the group of users are participating in the communication session with a communication device resulting in a group of communication devices. Further embodiments include receiving a request for a first meeting location for the group of users to meet, and identifying a device location for each of the group of communication devices resulting in a group of device locations. Additional embodiments can include identifying the first meeting location based on the group of meeting locations, and providing the first meeting location to each communication device of the group of communication devices, each communication device presents the first meeting location during the communication session. A method includes monitoring environmental conditions surrounding a moving vehicle, using an on-board sensor of the moving vehicle, detecting that at least one of the environmental conditions surrounding the moving vehicle is likely to impair visibility for a driver of the moving vehicle, based on an output of the on-board sensor, acquiring static map data for a location surrounding the moving vehicle, acquiring real time sensor data for the location surrounding the moving vehicle, where the real time sensor data comprises outputs of a plurality of on-board sensors of a plurality of other vehicles, generating an augmented reality view of the location surrounding the moving vehicle, using the static map data, the real time sensor data, and the output of the on-board sensor, and displaying the augmented reality view of the location surrounding the moving vehicle on a display within the moving vehicle.

Augmented-reality map assistance to improve driver visibility

The technologies described herein are generally directed to facilitate allocating resources to zones for IOT equipment in a fifth generation (5G) network or other next generation networks. An example method discussed herein includes identifying, by carrier allocation equipment, carrier transmission information corresponding to transmission of a first carrier signal configured to support Internet of things equipment. The method can further comprise analyzing, by the carrier allocation equipment, the carrier transmission information to determine coverage information corresponding to a potential for coverage, by the first carrier signal, of an Internet of things equipment support zone corresponding to a geographic area. The method can further include, based on the coverage information, facilitating configuring transmission parameter information, representative of a transmission parameter applicable to the coverage of the Internet of things equipment support zone by the first carrier signal.

Allocating resources to internet of things equipment in a fifth generation (5G) network or other next generation networks

A system enables a home operator to establish an automated monitoring process which identifies outage events on competitor wireless networks (e.g., peer operators) operating in the same geographies as home operator. The home operator then is able to selectively offer, in near real-time, to open roaming to the peer operator, or implement roaming automatically based on predefined and mutually agreed upon rule sets. The monitoring process may observe non-customer attach request volumes in order to identify outage events on competitor wireless networks.

Dynamic roaming

The technologies described herein are generally directed to configuring carrier aggregation zones based on transmission information in a fifth generation (5G) network or other next generation networks. For example, a method described herein can include identifying, by carrier aggregation equipment including a processor, carrier transmission information corresponding to a first carrier signal and a second carrier signal. The method can further include analyzing, by the carrier aggregation equipment, the carrier transmission information to determine first overlap zone information representative of a first carrier overlap zone for the first carrier signal and the second carrier signal. Further, based on the first overlap zone information, the method includes facilitating configuring transmission parameter information representative of a transmission parameter applicable to transmission of the first carrier signal, to enable carrier aggregation by network equipment within the first carrier overlap zone.

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, obtaining a first network parameter associated with a first network device and obtaining a second network parameter associated with a second network device. Further embodiments include determining that the first network device is less congested than the second network device based on the first network parameter and the second network parameter resulting in a first determination. Additional embodiments include amplifying a first wireless signal based on the first determination and in response to receiving the first wireless signal from the first network device resulting in a first amplified wireless signal, and transmitting the first amplified wireless signal Other embodiments are disclosed.

Establishing and refining beams in MIMO sessions can include detecting establishment of a communication session between a cell site and a user equipment. The communication session can be conducted using a multi-input multi-output beam that can be supported by a first portion of an antenna array, the first portion including two or more antenna array elements of the antenna array. Device data that relates to the user equipment can be obtained, where the device data can include movement data that can describe a movement of the user equipment. A beamforming command can be generated to include instructions that, when implemented by an entity associated with the cell site, can cause the cell site to refine the multi-input multi-output beam based on the device data. A refined multi-input multi-output beam can be supported by a second portion of the antenna array. The beamforming command can be provided to the cell site.

Establishing and refining beams in MIMO sessions

Improvement of data throughput via backhaul sharing is accomplished by accessing a cell site servicing data transmission at a first data rate and a connected backhaul network having a backhaul data rate. A determination of whether the first data rate exceeds the backhaul data rate is made and an excess data rate is determined. When the first data rate exceeds the backhaul data rate a neighboring cell site having a second backhaul networks is accessed. A determination is made of how much additional capacity the second backhaul network can handle. When the neighboring cell site can handle the excess data rate backhaul sharing using beamforming is initiated.

The disclosed technology is directed towards a frame-based indicator that can convey current network condition information and the type and quality of service currently available. The frame-based indicator can fit the shape of a user equipment, such as surrounding the display screen. The frame can be used to indicate various network information, including, but not limited to signal power, signal quality, noise, type of band available, network speeds and network latency. Network quality and types of services can be differentiated by frame size, frame pattern, frame color, frame color intensity, frame background gradient, frame flash pattern, frame animation, and so forth. The operating system and application programs can use the frame-based indicator to convey the various network-related information.

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, obtaining a network parameter associated with a first network device. The first network device transmits a first portion of a first group of wireless signals associated with the first network device to a first group of communication devices located in a first geographical area. Further embodiments can include detecting a second group of communication devices in a second geographical area, and determining the network parameter does not exceed a network parameter threshold resulting in a first determination. Additional embodiments can include amplifying a second portion of the first group of wireless signals associated with the first network device based on the first determination resulting in a first group of amplified wireless signals, and transmitting the first group of amplified wireless signals to a first portion of the second group of communication devices. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a method in which a processing system receives a signal transmitted from a first media presentation device presenting media content; the signal includes a request to discontinue providing the media content to the first media presentation device and begin providing the media content to a second media presentation device. The method also includes transmitting a link to a destination associated with the second device, and transmitting a portion of the media content to the second device; this portion corresponds to a predetermined time period commencing with transmission of the signal. In response to selection of the link, the media content portion is presented at the second device, and the media content is provided to the second device corresponding to a time period commencing with expiration of the predetermined time period.
