A helix antenna structure includes loop antennas and a multilayered printed circuit board including printed circuit board layers. Each printed circuit board layer includes a peripheral loop antenna and each adjacent two loop antennas are electrically connected by a connection bridge functioning as a monopole antenna. A selected printed circuit board layer physically and electrically accommodates a transmitter inside 'its' peripheral loop antenna, and it further includes a first antenna feeding line which is connected to the loop antenna that is disposed on the selected printed circuit board layer and electrically connectable to a first output terminal of the transmitter. A second antenna feeding line is disposed on another printed circuit board layer and electrically connected to its loop antenna and connectable to another output terminal of the transmitter. The two antenna feeding lines lie in a plane perpendicular to an axis of the printed circuit board after its folding.

Compact helix antenna for in-vivo devices

A printed millimeter wave dipole antenna and techniques for designing such an antenna are disclosed. In one embodiment, the dipole antenna comprises: a signal wing and at least one ground wing for propagating signals in a millimeter wave band; and an unbalanced feeding structure directly coupled to the signal wing. The unbalanced feeding structure is boarded by a plurality of escorting vias to ensure equipotential grounds.

Techniques for designing millimeter wave printed dipole antennas

Systems and methods for wireless communications are disclosed. Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a method for predicting bit errors in a communication channel, comprising generating a model representative of the communication channel, formulating enhanced noise at a first noise level that is higher than a second noise level, the second noise level corresponding to a level of noise that the communication channel experiences during a general operation of the communication channel, simulating an operation of the model by injecting the enhanced noise into the model, determining actual bit errors of the model when the model is simulated with the enhanced noise, and estimating a bit error rate (BER) when the model of the communication channel is operated with noise of the second level. Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a method for tuning an analog equalizer and a digital equalizer associated with a communications channel. A plurality of signals is injected into a model of a communication channel, the model being configured to have an analog equalizer at a receiving end, tuning a setting of the analog equalizer to obtain a first ratio of a pulse peak to a rise time in a precursor portion of the injected plurality signals that are received from the channel, injecting another plurality of signals into the model of the communication channel, the model being reconfigured to have the tuned analog equalizer and a digital equalizer downstream of the tuned analog equalizer, and tuning a setting of the digital equalizer based on a post-cursor tail characteristic of the another plurality of signals.
